Happy Birthday Chris! I hope you have a great day!

argh, sorry to hear that Dan.

Ah, gotcha. You, sir are a long drink of water, indeed.

Congrats! Re:stem, meaning you need the stem that long for it to fit right? That does seem long for cyclocross.

Did 51 miles. It felt colder than 45F, for some reason. Did wear the appropriate clothing [emoji300]️ Next weekend it's the real deal though. Canadian/Alaskan express and all. Time for serious winter kit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

are you doing the "one-click" for your orders? If yes, maybe your orders have defaulted to std shipping for some reason. What I'd try is for the next order, use the add to cart and then regular checkout. Select 2-day as shipping method, if I remember correctly, there is a "use these settings for future orders" or similar option at this checkout step. That should save your shipping preferences for "one-click." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Amazon did come through at the end and made right on the screw up by the re-seller. However, it took a *LOT* of more time and phone calls to get them to do it. I spoke to a total of 6 reps and 2 supervisors. Not surprisingly, it depends on how much a specific CS rep is willing to do for you. If you feel that you can do better, just call again. I have used Amazon for years (since '95 actually) and in my humble opinion, it is great until you need serious customer service help, from then on, it is a crap shot. IF you don't get the answer you want from a CS representative, just try again or escalate to a sup, it just takes TIME and determination... Also, the most "willing to help" reps in my experience are the ones that you get to "call back" when they send you the survey to see if you feel satisfied with CS. Yeah, have a bunch of stuff showing up on Sunday, by default. I don't need the stuff on Sunday, kinda feel bad for the delivery guy that has to do this on a Sunday... I guess I could have selected "no rush" delivery, but since prime defaults to 2-day shipping, it went through before I actually knew it was scheduled for Sunday. So, it is on for Sunday. On the specific issue, I would avoid ordering anything from "The Nerds" on amazon. Really don't know much about them, other that they reneged on an order, after a month of waiting and the item being in stock in there store (verified by amazon themselves).

oh, that looks good!

Sorry to hear about the rabies scare. Me, having the more bizarre and weird adventure with Amazon, and a reseller (within amazon), trying to have them fulfill an order. I think Amazon customer service is down in the gutter, severely. Seriously FUBAR.

Have to say that it is like a kick in the balls when a company wants to replace a recently purchased item with a refurb. This happened to me with garmin. Luckily competitive cyclist exchanged it for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ha! now you are going to need a hand-cranked dynamo power generator so that you can charge your external batt pack for the ipad while surviving out in the wild.

That is really cool. Such a great mission.

congrats to giant fans!

We are trying hard not to make orange juice. Take the hint? S-l-o-w d-o-w-n... Channelling Jules: "There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. "path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon you." Now... I been sayin' that shit for years. And if you ever heard it, that meant your ass. You'd be dead right now. I never gave much thought to what it meant. I just thought it was a cold-blooded thing to say to a motherfucker before I popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this mornin' made me think twice. See, now I'm thinking: maybe it means you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here... he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could mean you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. And I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be the shepherd." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

One claimed advantage is vibration reduction. In theory sounds plausible, but I would not claim that the bikes with alloy/aluminum bars are overly harsh, IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh man Dan, that is a rabbit hole, that you are going down into.... Just make sure to get some take-along can of foam for the ride, unless you plan to carry a glued replacement tubular along for the ride. And the also important to carry the valve remover thingy so that you can "inject' the foam smoothly, otherwise big mess. I have had a love-hate relationship with tubulars. The ride quality is superb but dealing with flats is not fun. Learning to properly clean and prep the rims for gluing is very important. You have probably done it already, but if not, read up online about the process. In the weight weenies forum there is a HUGE thread about it. It is an art, ha ha. I got rid of my Mavic deep dish carbon wheels and got a pair of used fulcrum tubulars. I haven't glued them in either, I am stretching the tires a the moment. AH, yes DON"T forget to stretch the tires by inflating them on a regular rim pumped at around 130psi for a couple of days.
