1. I'm using David's old Denon DL-110 and it sounds very good, I'm quite pleased. Michael Jackson's Off the Wall sounds great on vinyl. I've heard a lot of good things about the ZYX cartridges.

3. I love the Sony PS-X40 so much, that when this turntable came up for sale I could not resist (thanks 909 )... Sony PS-X600 in great condition
4. Oingo Boingo - Dead Man's Party (vinyl)
5. I am borrowing the prototype Transcription Amplifier, which is supposed to be the same as the production model, just not as asthetically pleasing. I really like it quite a bit, it has a nice warm analog sound to it. It is detailed but not analytical. There is quite a bit of gain with 48db for MM and 72db for MC, I'm surprised how quiet it is. The only thing that I would want is an easier way to adjust the loading instead of the barrier strips.
6. I don't know about life, that's a very long time, but for now w5k/ad2k )
7. Van Morrison - His Band and the Street Choir (vinyl) )
8. Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsys (vinyl)
9. Thanks, I am enjoying it. I also sent my AD2000, K701 and Equinox cable to Scott to be recabled / reterminated with 4 pin XLR, so I can enjoy them balanced.
10. Had lunch with 909, Augsburger and Guzziguy today. I borrowed 909s Denon DL-110 cartridge, if I can find a decent phono preamp to go with it, this may replace the Shure cart that is on the Sony right now. Also dropped off my music hall mmf-5 to replace the Shure M97Xe with a Audio Technica 440MLa. I hope with the cartridge change and if he can setup the turntable properly, it will sound a lot better, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
11. Thanks Al, I'm sure it doesn't even come close to your vinyl rig, but I have some nice vinyl to spin, so I'm happy.
12. I bought a Sony PS-X40 with a Shure M95-HE cartridge off of eBay for $59. I just unboxed it and hooked it up to my Hagerman Bugle preamp and into the Equilibrato, and it is shockingly good:o! I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. It is not the last word in detail and the highs are rolled off slightly, but it sounds pretty darn good for the money. I thought I would just toss the cart and replace it with something better. But I think I will keep this setup for a while. 13. Happy Birthday Dom! I hope you have a great day!
14. They should have put the little Weiss swoosh under the jack, so it looks like a happy face at least.
15. I haven't logged that much time on mine, but love them for a change of pace. I'm listening to some Metallica "Ride the Lightning" and they sound pretty good to me. And of course my opinion is the only one that counts.
16. Brian and Russ, Great job, I've contributed to your relief raffle.
17. Check Trip Advisor, it looks like Hampton Inn Time Square North and Hilton Garden Inn Time Square both have rooms for under $200. Of course it all depends upon when you go.
18. The ZDT will drive speakers. This headphone amplifier was intended as a limited production amp for critical heaphone listening.
19. Thanks, I do love it. And the styling of his stuff is great, I love the use of the red lights on his BA and transcription amplifier.
20. For good eats on the cheap 53rd and 6th Halal Cart the chicken and rice is great. I always have to go to Gray's Papaya and get the recession special two hot dogs and papaya juice. Pommes Frites is always good for some french fries and what ever sauce you fancy. If you want some japanese ramen noodles, I tried Ramen Setagaya and it was good and reasonably priced. Here is a list of the top ramen places in NYC from Rameniac. If you're near central park, I like Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery, everything I tried there was good. Enjoy, I love NYC.
21. Thanks, I am loving it I would say that if I can get 90% of the BA sound at 50% the cost, its a bargain.
22. I met David (909) at Craig's house on Saturday to pick up my Equilibrato and all I can say is that I am extremely pleased with this amp. David was kind enough to bring over his L3000s, a really great sounding cartridge and phono preamp. We did quite a bit of listening to both CD and vinyl on Craigs Sony PSX70 turntable. The Equilibrato with the PX4 sounds great, it is very musical. Listening to some vintage vinyl really made me want to setup my turntable and get my analog system setup again. I've been listening to music digitally through my Lavry DA11 quite a bit lately and although it is convenient and does sound great with the Equilibrato, I do miss the analog sound. In regards to balanced versus unbalanced, I did listen to the AD2000 and RS1 balanced vs unbalanced, and there is a noticeable difference in soundstage and definition. The balanced setup definitely sounded better to my ears. Now to I need to get my headphones balanced. The input switch on the front lights up when you turn on the amp, it glows a nice amber / orange color that almost matches the glow of the tubes. Very cool. It does not change color, just goes in and out to switch between the two single ended inputs. Nice, now I don't need a seperate preamp. I can use one input for digital and one for analog. The Sophia Electric PX4 sounds great, it is a little bit microphonic, but nothing that I can hear in normal listening. I didn't compare it to any 300Bs, but am quite happy with my decision. Although I do want to listen to the much more expensive KR tubes, Craig says that they sound better overall and have better bass. This amp is a huge leap forward in performance over my DM-2 prototype, it is better in everyway from detail, soundstage, etc.
