SennHD820
Today I stumbled across a Sennheiser showroom in San Francisco on Post St. just off Union Sq. They had the HD820 and most of their other cans out to try with their amp/DACs. You can plug in your own phone or stream Tidal. They also have the Orpheus in a private room by appointment. The place was empty at 11:45 on a Friday. I was the only customer... I won't bother you with my impressions...just a heads up to anyone in the Bay Area that would like to audition any Sennheiser stuff.

Listening Chairs
I prefer the vintage Eames lounge chair & ottoman (pre 1971) compared to the current production because the early ones used down filled cushions instead of foam & fiber.

Share your parent's epic tech fails
My Dad's 83. Lugged his iMac to the Apple Store because "something was not working". Brought it home and it wouldn't start up so he called me. After 30 minutes on the phone we determined that the power cord was still in the trunk of the car.....

You may be able to use these to convert your down tube shifters to handlebar thumb shifters. Designed for bar end shifters but should work for down tube levers. You can always check with Paul. https://paulcomp.com/shop/components/shimanothumbies/ Really well made, beautifully machined in CA. It's then easy to find clamp on cable guides as this is how vintage road bikes ran cables... https://www.rivbike.com/collections/shifting

I used a USE thermoplastic shim to fit a 27.2 on my 31.6 on my Pegoretti...worked great. These are machined to high tolerance from UPVC. They're 100mm long so lots of support and tight fit. Because they're made from a plastic, no need to worry about seizing a carbon fiber or ti post. Might even add a bit of dampening to your ride, but that might have just been from switching to a smaller diameter seat post. Note that their thinner shims are aluminum and I have no experience with those http://www.ultimateuse.com/use-components/accessories/309mm-id-shims

I think it's spelled "sum yung gai". I've seen it on menus but never tried. I'm guessing it's better fresh and not as "leftovers" YMMV PS - Happy New Year. Glad your recovering. Your posts crack me up...

With Shimano you cannot mix the compact with regular chainrings because of the shifting ramps. The large 52 ring doesn't like shifting to smaller than 36 inner ring. It works but it is easier to drop a chain. You can run the compact 50 outer ring with the regular inner rings e.g. 50/39 with no problem. I don't think the bottom bracket impacts the shifting. Ride safe!
