No one by that nom de plume in my circles. But if they know me, I will certainly allow them to pour me a beverage. - cheers Back to 'training'. Oh and while I met my goal, Communities of Belonging has not...

Thanks for all the generosity.. I guess I should move the goalposts... :}

First, I want to say many humble thanks for all of your support in the past. Our non-profit, Communities of Belonging, are so happy to be having our 4th annual Walk for Belonging as a part of the national Second Chance Month. April 26, 2025, Green Lake, Seattle... As with many non-profits, we are always struggling with funds to keep things running. And sad to say that our mission is under direct attack. Grants that have helped us in the past have been cut or eliminated. Our message of "We Believe in a World where Everyone Belongs" is not supported under the current administration. We have an opportunity to open another house, and are actively working on how we can support the trans community. We are truly trying to remove all the barriers that we can to help those that need as second chance in life. My team page and walk info on GiveButter - https://givebutter.com/WalkforBelonging2025/michaelmaddock Happy to talk about our mission and any questions you may have about our organization... Cheers and thanks, Mikey

The Gospel Of The Blues by Sister Rosetta Tharpe (2003) https://album.link/gj4wgq3qv0qgj Example: 18 Decca tracks from 1938-1948. Recording tech suffers a bit, but it does not overshadow Sister's playing and singing prowess.

Note to self -- Keep the induction cooktop away from the oven exhaust when I am baking at 500+ degrees... Mostly cosmetic, but may effect longevity... ๐

The Force is strong with this one... and it's jiggly. -
it had been a while, I baked some bread.. Simple country loaf, About 24 hour fermentation, and my scoring was crap.

Heart Like A Wheel by Linda Ronstadt (1974) https://album.link/xzjmctstnw69b Example: Just admiration of talent....

After watching this: I thought I might try to make my latte look like something. I have never really cared in the past. After a two failed attempts during the week, I didn't have my foam right. Today I made a thing. Not great - but still drinkable... that's all...

Two quick listens. Chicken Heads 50th Anniversary by Bobby Rush (2022) https://open.qobuz.com/album/p1a5wnkma1tzb Example: Just 4 versions of the same song: Bobby Rush, Buddy Guy, Gov't Mule, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram... I like Bobby's more raw blues, but the others are fun. And then more fun. A lot of things still hit: "Well, he may be a fool but heโs our fool" Good Old Boys by Randy Newman (1974) https://album.link/fw6p7j6rpszzd Example: Some really pretty tunes along with the hard hitters.

".tk"? I ain't clicking on that.... My afternoon: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis (1974) https://album.link/9wdb4bwv4kq4w Example: It has been a while since I have listened to the full album. If you have 94 min of your day. And as I went to post this, I saw a new release is coming out. A Deluxe, or super deluxe or ultra deluxe or something like that. Coming out in June, they have released a few tracks and they sound good, but not a big improvement over this 2007 remaster. And of course you will need 230 minutes of your life to consume the new version. Good luck with that.

Apocalypse & Chill by Delain (2020) https://album.link/nwk07vqwtdzmv Example: In my queue for a little while. But the album title seemed appropriate.... Also I liked the album...

I do like me some space documentaries. I was at Vandenburg, CA during this period as an Air Force brat. I followed the MMU progress closely at the time.

MAYHEM by Lady Gaga (2025) {no link} Example: Overall the album was good, but a little too samey from song to song. The best thing was still the duet with Bruno Mars that they both released.
-
Multiple by Joe Henderson (1973) https://album.link/tgfvb24bkbtbt Example: Goes a little far now and then into the 70 experimental jazz, but always keeps it musical. I did really enjoy this outing. Lots of flavors to enjoy.

I went outside today. Chopped some wood, smoked my churchwarden pipe, had a Fremont beer.... So that is what a blue sky looks like. ... cool ๐

Bach: Keyboard Concertos, BWV 1052, 1053, 1054 & 1056 by Beatrice Rana (2025) https://album.link/6kncwnnqswkjg Example: A touch slower than I am use to for these works, but all are well done, and very enjoyable to listen to. Looking at their catalog, this might be my first recording from Rana.
