  1. Echoes In The Valley Sophie Hutchings 2021 https://album.link/i/1575531486 Example: Sunday morning piano music? yes please. I really liked this close-miced recording, I don't always like to hear all the piano parts moving, but it works for me here as a percussive element. A nice collection of delicate works.
  2. Long time subscriber of Elizabeth. She has upped my vocal appreciation game.
  3. Killers Iron Maiden 1981 https://album.link/i/1147158978 Example: Nothing like sleeping on an album for 42 years before giving it a good listen. It kicks Ass. The title track is a standout - but the example hooked me hard. I have to admit, if I had not already, I was a little turned off from maiden back in the day, mainly from the cover art, t-shirts and fans at the time. I was in the meat of highschool during their starting albums. So with all that, I never really gave them a chance until much later, and I was into different things (mostly jazz and classical) in the 90s. So to be able to come back to this and pretty much 'discover' these albums with 'fresh' ears, is pretty refreshing. No recommendations needed - I am pre-sold on the catalog. Things added to queue.
  4. I thought Temu was pretty harmless until it served up this ad during my golf game. Yes all those things are exactly what they say they are for.
  5. Leftovers Le Ren 2021 https://album.link/i/1577419184 Example: Some more female vocals. I seem to be on a kick. Unknown to me but really was lovely. It gave me a Trinity Sessions vibe from Cowboy Junkies, with touches of Simon and Garfunkel. I know those are all really big shoes, but just to say I really did enjoy this set.
  6. Cheers Chris - Many Happy Birthday's -
  7. Age of Apathy Solo Sessions Aoife O'Donovan 2022 https://album.link/i/1676379525 Example: Finally listening to the solo sessions of Aoife's Apathy album. It took me too long to get to it, but was very well rewarded with a superbly recorded set that allows me to just fall in love with her voice once again. It will become my go to over the full band sessions. Her and Sarah (above) just hit me in a way that very few others do.
  8. Thanks for the site - it looks like a aggregator of all city level GIS site data. And agreed, it has the paths that I know are there that google doesn't. - cool.
  9. Back on the Ted Train for season three - and it is not disappointing.
  10. Okay I could not help myself. Build Me Up From Bones Sarah Jarosz 2013 https://album.link/i/1440726347 Example: I just marvel at the talent of the three members of I'm With Her. Together and as individual artists.
  11. Wake Me When It's Over I’m With Her 2023 https://song.link/i/1682394335 The one song: It is just a single, but I am hopeful from the image that there is an upcoming 'live at the Troubadour' release or something like that. Until then I have this on repeat for the afternoon. "I'm With Her covering the Willie Nelson song "Wake Me When It's Over", recorded live as a voice memo in January 2020."
  12. ^ this - thx G. I did appreciate that the commentators mostly were silent, and I enjoyed all the music. Well recorded for an all live performance.
  13. Correct on the BÖC - the other Info: Sammy Hagar - Heavy Metal - From Standing Hampton (Released as Single) Blue Öyster Cult - Veteran Of The Psychic Wars - From Fire Of Unknown Origin Journey - Open Arms - From Escape The rest were created exclusively for the Soundtrack, with two exceptions: - Black Sabbath's "Mob Rules" as present on the album, is an early demo (which I like better). It was later Re-recorded on "Mob Rules". - Trust's "Prefabricated" is English-Language version of "Prefabriques", which appeared on "Trust" (a.k.a. "L'Élite"). Tracks that appeared in the movie, but not in OST: - "Through Being Cool" (from "New Traditionalists" by Devo) - "E5150" (from "Mob Rules" by Black Sabbath)
  14. Couldn't pick an album - so just the playlist of all. etc.
  15. Heavy Metal Soundtrack Various Artists 1981 https://album.link/i/320264810 Example: Truly still one of the great movie soundtracks made, with only 3 of the 16 tracks not being directly written for the movie. Had to share the Felder track with one the great bass lines by Abraham Laboriel. And just for fun I found the score. I didn't see it on the streaming platforms.
  16. Idle Moments Grant Green 1965 https://album.link/i/724724533 Example: Frikin' Blue Note. How were you so consistently good at making recordings? Just a wonderful recording capturing the magic of Grant Green. You know, the usual.
  17. Pittsburgh Matthew Stevens 2021 https://album.link/i/1616942712 Example: A Short set of complex tunes from Matthew. I will have to explore, but these were engaging.
  18. Blessings and Miracles Santana 2021 https://album.link/i/1580765405 Example: Santana colab 2021. Overall I really liked it. There is the Example, which is just a bop. To some lovely things with Steve Winwood and the late Chick Corea. Warm Friday evening music.
  19. I do like the overall design of it. And in the price range with a lot of things. It is a statement piece (i.e. not small). More like the monolith in 2001
  20. The Poll Winners Ride Again! Barney Kessel, Shelly Manne, Ray Brown 1959 https://album.link/i/1444008734 Example: This Jazz is so jazzy. In the best way. Great gathering and set. There is still a lot of magic to be found in 1959.
  21. Too many reasons this year: Swing Dat Hammer Harry Belafonte 1960 https://album.link/i/1087732644 Example: Still in awe of that voice. RIP Harry - thank you...
  22. RIP Harry Belafonte https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/25/entertainment/harry-belafonte-death/index.html
