The soundbars I've heard are a ripoff for what you get. I think you're better off with some cheap Insignias. I bought these like 7 years ago for $45. Much better sound than the bars I've experienced. I've been meaning to upgrade forever but never do because these 'aren't broken'. The tv on the other hand, is getting upgraded soon, hence the wire mess.

I can't tell if you're joking, but this is pretty much what I've done. Its encouraged me to get more repeat listens rather than just jumping from one thing to another, and has ultimately been a more rewarding experience.

I can see computer equipment being loud and/or slow, but I can't see it passing that info down the chain to the dac. Ambient room noise yeah, but its all 1s and 0s. I guess you could get another macbook (or whatever computer you have) outfitted w/ a standard hard drive and have a double blind test at a meet. Keep both computers on at the same time so ambient noise in the room is unchanged. I'll quote Icarium here: "shrug".

I was watching football this past Sunday, and they showed the players getting off the bus before the game. Almost all of them had Dre Beats. These guys can afford to buy anything, so you know there is nothing better available.

I have a similar experience. Except I was stupid, doing it on a mall parking lot roof at night w/ flash. We did get the camera back though. It never escalated to the point of actual police.

Its been awhile since I looked at Mozy and Carbonite, but I remember not liking the Mozy interface as much as Backblaze. I think both were $5 a moth each, I forget what Carbonite was. I think Carbonite had some sort of catch to it where I couldnt upload from an external disc or something, but its been so long I can't remember. I do believe the price should be about equal for all of them though, give or take.

The better the music, the worse the recording quality. Exceptions being Steely Dan and jazz.
