  1. Maybe you can make a coilgun out of this. Chekhonte's new magnets should make good bullets for it.
  2. If you only bought 2, they would have 3 left, so I don't think this is gonna work. Somebody should make a compass out of these. Or maybe DIY speakers.
  3. I'm not an expert here, but I really don't think that a regular pot would like the kind of current that would be going through it if you use it this way.
  4. Thanks. I should have thought of this earlier. Fortunately, I managed to not electrocute myself when I tried to bias the SRM-007t that I used to own.
  5. I didn't know that there are specialized tools just for adjusting trim pots.
  6. This probably set some kind of record for price/performance ratio.
  7. Sorry about going off topic, but does the KGBH require manual re-biasing and/or matched tubes?
  8. EDIT: Nevermind. I thought nums called dibs on the KGBH. Can I call dibs on the KGBH when the next owner sells it?
  9. According to morphsci, no one has followed the correct protocol.
  10. The Apogee Mini-DAC has both single ended and balanced outputs.
  11. That's a good point. This is really more of a DAC+preamp comparison than a DAC comparison. The F1 shouldn't be hard to drive though (I'm only guessing here based on the fact that it's SS with low output power). As long as it sounds good, who cares about the sampling rate? Are you saying that the 192kHz mode on the Stello should not be used in this comparison simply because the Lavry is not capable of it? Ideally, both units would be using the settings that give the best sound. While the crystal mode is not necessarily the one that sounds best to humanflyz, at least it is recommended by the manufacturer.
  12. The comparison might be flawed in some ways, but it's still a valid and useful comparison. Basically, humanflyz used the manufacturer-recommended modes for both the Lavry (crystal) and the Stello (upsampling). He found that the Stello sounded better to him.
  13. I think this is what you should do. Just because you are using digital volume control doesn't mean that you have to turn the amp up to max volume.
  14. Hopefully nobody will try to reterminate my mercury cables. Your nitrogen insulation has too much impurities in it.
  15. That shouldn't be so hard. Just use little plastic tubes filled with mercury.
  16. Actually, having the amp be 10 feet away might be a good solution. IIRC, a lot of stock headphone cables are around 10 feet long. It would be a pain to change the volume though.
  17. I know. I imagine the graph for the older version would be a lot more impressive. We need a bass head smiley for headphones like these.
  18. IIRC, the new DT770 (2005/2006 ver.) has a lot less bass than the older 80 Ohms version.
  19. I look forward to the impressions/comparisons/reviews.
  20. Did you read/watch Yakitate!! Japan?
  21. So the Mk1 cover works. Thanks for the answers. You own a bakery? I'm glad that you are still doing OK and bidding on T2's.
  22. Did you have to plug the port (like what Birgir did to his Mk2) for it to sound the same as a stock Mk1?
