I'd be willing to pony up $10 for a green eco-case. PM me if you buy the 5-pack.

Hey Ken, glad to hear you are OK. Hope you have a fast recovery. I'm guessing you're well taken care of at home, but let me know if you need any help with anything. On a positive note, Fungi can sell your extra meds at UCSB to pay for your next gear purchase .

As far as I know, there is only one in USA - the one in Arcadia. Of course I would expect the locations in the Far East to be somewhat different...

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Din Tai Fung is excellent. Easily the best dumplings I've ever had. They are like little works of art. The restaurant is in a non-descript strip mall, so one would not go there unless they new what it was all about. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the LA area.

Just saw this thread...Good luck Ken! One of my coworkers previously worked for Sonos, so let me know if you want me to ask anything specific. I'd bet your chances are very good. You are qualified and experienced, and your passion for audio will show in the interview. Of course it also helps that Sonos is expanding, and we live in a labor-limited market. Hope you knock(ed) their socks off. Keep us updated! Fungi: I've compiled a huge list of area tech companies, so if you want to stay in the area after graduation, PM me!

2nd-Hand Ipod Touch 16Gb...sippin' Kool-Aid???

I've been busy! Too many "grown-up" things getting in the way of my hobbies. I liked the Images. They had a great euphonic sound. Tons of bass, deeeeeeep bass. Reasonably sweet mids. Rolled off highs, but it made for relaxing listening. Good soundstage, great texture. I think it's significant that these were made by speaker guys rather than hearing aid/monitoring people. They sounded more like full-size cans than any other IEM I've heard. I sold them because: (1) the cables were microphonic as hell and seemed flimsy and (2) overall they sound similar to the SE530s which I already own.

Shure SE530 > Ety ER4P > PX100, DT770 > JVC FX33

Klipsch Image IEMs...

This is true, the HD201s sound pretty bad ampless. With a modest amp, they sound much better. I also agree that the SE530 are very good, but are much more dynamic with an amp. PK2 are Grado-ish and are good if you don't need any isolation. PX100 are Senn-ish and are good if you don't need any isolation. Straight out of the Ipod, I don't think you can beat the ER4P (and I have tried). The ergonomics are not the best, but the sound is.

Indeed, the Headfive is basically a two-channel Pimeta w/PS and crossfeed in a pretty Shanling box. (Someone correct me if the HeadFive actually has active ground.)
-
I agree with Pars. Try out an OPA2107 for L/R and (possibly) OPA227 for G. That should warm things up a bit. From experience: the Headfive will not be better than your Pimeta. If you are really itching for something new, sell me your Pimeta .
-
Get both. Sell the one you don't prefer. That is the only way.

Wow, cool, surrogate advertising!!! The CKKIII is a damn nice amp, but I just don't have time to sit at my desk and enjoy it.

Good call. It is my favorite radio show by a mile. A great exploration of just about every human emotion.

Yeah, I really wish they included 99.9999999999999% pure silver teflon coated coat hangers. Then it really would have been interesting. -

x3 or 4 or whatever it is...I've had too many packages killed by UPS...never again. USPS is faster, cheaper, and safer.

Reminds me of the Nascar dude named Dick Trickle.

Every morning, after a shower, with Q-tips. But still the olives get a little funky after a few weeks of daily use. I have cleaned the olives with soapy water, but then their consistency changes - they become softer, spongier and just not the same.
