  1. Cool! I saw The Last Waltz in the theater, that's as close as I ever got.
  2. Robert Reed, Sanctuary II -- moar more Oldfield than Oldfield.
  3. Did you just one-up yourself? Did you just one-up bacon?
  4. I can't believe you said that with a straight face.
  5. New Little Tybee record! Also, What We Want by STFU (Dean Garcia side project -- very typical of his work -- medigs -- I still think All We Have is Now is the best thing he's done in years, but I can't say as I mind him being as prolific as he is -- I love everything he touches -- PS they're all collaborations, so I can't contribute all of it to his influence, I just mention it by way of point-of-reference).

  7. I went to the PRS experience yesterday and did not buy a guitar, but I made a pink purple thing at the staining table. Then I went to a Maryland restaurant and ate crab cakes made from fresh Maryland crab by the water and drank a vodka tonic made from Maryland vodka which was actually quite good -- went to a Maryland liquor store and bought a bottle of said Maryland vodka ("Sloop Betty") and some cherry bitters.
  8. ...in Maryland. I do, too, try to have them every time I'm out this way. Which ain't all that often.
  9. Sounds delicious. I'm having Maryland crab cakes.
  10. Definitely, in my book!
  11. Yeah, this is the reason I only ever buy shoes in person or from someplace that has zero problem with returns, like Zappos. I have everything from a 9.5 wide to a 12 regular, with room for another complete set of toes. I consider myself lucky if it comes in a wide at all, not so discerning between 3E and 4E. I <3 Oxfords, though, so had to look.
  12. Knucks -- what was that band you told me I would like, one of their albums has a skull on the cover? I even went and saw them live, but drawing a blank...geezin' sucks. I thought it was in this thread, but I just reread the whole thing, and they're not in here. EDIT: Nevermind, found them on this page -- Oneohtrix Point Never
  13. Happy birthday, Ben! (party favour noise)
  14. Drinks & hugs back...
  15. ...which no-one but audiophiles can hear. fnar fnar The rare mime tree:
  16. Body Language was the first album I got, based entirely on the strength of the lead single, "Slow". I was surprised how much I liked all the other tracks, especially Red Blooded Woman and Chocolate, but it's distilled pure pop perfection as far as I am concerned. I think I have all of the post pre Michael Hutchence albums (so 1989 onwards? I may have to double check...), since many of them were reissued in 2CD packs several years ago. You may also want to check out Anniemal, it kind of hits me the same way.
  17. Yeezh. Condolences, dude, we're here to listen if you want to vent or just think out loud or anything.
