  1. Damn, son.
  2. Fantastic version, there, Wayne. Mia is the daughter of which you speak?
  3. They put some tickets on sale just last week for me, would've been $30 for the anti-social seats, I paid $50 for my choral vantage.
  4. My vantage tonight, seeing Hilary Hahn. I could have taken the 'leper colony' seats, again, but decided to chance it. It was fine. The young lady next to me didn't take her shit out of my seat when I got there, but there was no-one on the other side of me, and it was kind of a bench, so I sat between two seats, sort of. It was fine at first, but I was sitting right on the seam, so it got kinda old. At the intermission I was going to ask her to keep her shit, but they never returned, so no problems on either side of me for the rest of the show. She played a solo violin piece that one of her patrons had commissioned for her that was just fantastic. Show opened with the first part of that, then it was her and the pianist Cory Smyth playing Mozart, then she played the second part of the new piece, intermission, third part, then the pianist returned for a Sonata by Copland. This was a much more Hilary-centric concert than the last one, so I was happy.
  5. Lost Girl season 5 is up on Netflix, so watching that interspersed with my usual shows (Arrow, Flash, Marvel's Agents of Shield, Agent Carter has finished for the season, Castle, Gotham, iZombie, Legends of Tomorrow) and Fargo.
  6. That doesn't make it okay, and it doesn't mean you should just give up on trying to protect your IP.
  7. Cool, thanks for sharing! Will try that one. It's also really hard to compare "fresh" with "packaged" -- that probably has as much to do with it tasting better. That said, I have found a particularly delicious plain yogurt that is head and shoulders above any other yogurt I've tasted (I do not make my own -- that's probably food-poisoning waiting to happen), and I use it exclusively: Harris Teeter Organics organic lowfat yogurt (I use lowfat, you may want to check out the regular yogurt). I also may have grabbed the vanilla by accident once, it was surprisiingly smooth, without an overwhelming vanilla flavor. You know, just in case you run out of home-made.
  8. SR-003 Mk II
  9. Hmmm...tandoori yogurt chicken sounds good...(wanders off to look up a recipe online) Me, been working on a vaguely chili-an recipe (very little pepper) for the last 4 hours, finally just gave up and ate what I had. Was good, but seemed to have that hollowness between the base texture and the spicy top that goes with a lot of hot but "no salt added" foods. Oh well, just kept adding shit until it tasted better, ended up being pretty good, but I don't think I appreciate it right now, I probably should have ate before I started cooking so that I wasn't hangry by the time I et.
  10. ...not that there's anything wrong with that.
  11. I need a picture of the sausage penetrating the pretzel. If you're already done eating, my apologies, but NEXT TIME....
  12. The movie was inevitable. He always did have great soundtracks (cf. Lost Highway).
  13. So, literally, yes, album of the month == flavour of the month.
  14. Lots of PFM -- even the most recent one, A.D. 2010 - La Buona Novella, is superb. Italian prog is Italian. Muy bueno.
  15. Fugees == flavour of the month?
  16. Alas, tomorrow is also Sakura Matsuri, thinking of going to that, haven't been in a couple years.
  17. Exactly, though it's the principal, not the money. I hinted to him exactly the same thing that once he got it back, he could probably get away with selling it as a demo.
  18. Because I don't feel like wasting the string set on a guitar that he's already told me he'll be issuing a return tag on. Also, because I have anger management issues. Which are exacerbated by people.
  19. Yes, it's a PRS SE Custom 24/7-string. Torqued is when it has a slight helical twist to it; bowed is when it has a slight arc to it. It has a lot to do with the fact that it isn't strung or "set up" (mostly truss rod adjustment, but setup also includes other things, like adjustment of the bridge height and intonation). Strings put an expected tension on the neck which compensates for some amount of bowing and torquing. The problem is without stringing it up, I have no way of knowing if stringing it up will solve the problem, but if I'm not going to keep it, I don't feel like bothering. He has agreed to take it back, so there's that...and he's sending a new one, so IMHO, he's taking care of it. I't's really hard to tell from the pictures, since the best way to see the problem is to sight along the neck, and the camera refuses to focus on everything at once. It's subtle. It's probably recuperable, but I just don't feel like dealing with it. Dude needs some serious training in "presentation" and PR.
  20. http://imgur.com/a/kjM7R I ordered this guitar almost a year ago. They finally came in in ... January/February? We've been going back and forth on pickups until finally I said fuck it, just send me the guitar stock. He shipped it with the pickups included, but taken out, no strings, and a chip. I think it's been sitting like this for the last month or so, because apparently the guy only reads his email once a week or something. I think it's torqued. And bowed. I'm never dealing with this asshole again.
  21. Belated happy birthday and happy Thai new year! (multiple party favours noiseses)
  22. Big Big Train, From Stone and Steel -- on Tidal until it gets released in the US. Probably on infinite repeat. Probably my favourite English band.
  23. (not really, pretty cool though, and I loller at the mental image that generates)
