  1. That's way too young.
  2. House of Prog's Prog Rock Deep Cuts radio show.
  3. "It could be made out of petrified pig shit and spark plug connectors if you wanted it bad enough..." See? Now it's obvious that I'm being derisive about that course of action. The way you phrased it, in the context of the conversation, it wasn't. Well, I didn't get that anyway, but what do I know.
  4. Fuck yeah. Will have to get around to that after the Chick Corea/Gary Burton, Peter Frampton, and Chelsea Wolfe Tiny Desk Concerts. http://www.npr.org/2016/03/17/470807870/peter-frampton-tiny-desk-concert http://www.npr.org/2016/02/10/466286135/chelsea-wolfe-tiny-desk-concert

Yeah. A couple of tricks -- put it (the output of the Pod Mini) through a Moogerfooger or some sort of similar analog drive pedal, compensates for the digititis a little bit. Or a tube headphone amp. In the digital world, I happen to really like the artifacting that paulstretching puts on everything, I am trying to figure out a way to separate that out as a separate digital effect. Unrelated -- one of my last two guitars that I ordered last year got shipped --yay! The fanned-fret Ormsby Violent Crumble HypeGTR 7-string. (Yes, another purple guitar, my first fanned fret.) There is a problem with the pink one however -- they can't find it. They don't think it was shipped. They have run across one or two mislabeled boxes, but as of now, they don't think it's in there. So he called me -- yup, long distance from Australia and everything. He offered me to either upgrade or paint something else pink, but it wouldn't be standard scale. I kind of don't want two of the same guitar. I told him I'd think about it -- I'm actually glad he sent the first one, because that means I can try a fanned fret before I decide. I'm a little worried that because he had so few standard scales ordered, that he's trying to bait-and-switch me into a fanned fret and give my standard scale either to someone closer or less on the fence, or to a store to sell. A little, not much, like 5% maybe. Here is what I wrote them (his wife Shivvy/Siobhan does the email side): Any thoughts? The double-cutouts are the HypeGTRs, and the singlecuts are the Tx (his tele-style, he also has an Sx, a strat style, which is very close to the Hype).
  6. God's aim is true (if you believe in that sort of thing).
  7. I thought we already went over this in ...February? April?
  8. From NPR's first listen, Mogwai's new one, Atomic, is excellent!
  9. If I ever name an album or a song or a piece or something, 'kayaking downhill', you should picture this -- even though it sounds like it should be at the end of, "...as easy as...".
  10. He did, but they're divorced now.

It's basically just a flat response monitor, like one of your ATCses, scaled down. My friend has the Kemperor, it's okay, but not for me. The tweed simulation I posted about sounds much better to my ears. I'll stick with analog until the technology matures.
  12. At least you're honest. And you've reached your limit (of ability to hear). Really, if you want to state your opinion based on conjecture, feck off.
  13. Jo Cox -- British politician Stolen from elsewhere: "Heartbreaking and horrifying. The new disease of the 21st century: Hate. It will destroy us all." Fuck everyone and everything.
  14. Thanks, I haven't been following First Listen for a while, so yes listening to it now...well, oops, seems I queued up Deerhoof first, I wonder how that happened...and the verbal description of Mitski's Puberty 2 and that Israeli sisters/Yemenite Jews doing Arab-language folk songs with electronic touches sounds interesting too...Oooh, I like the new player...anyway, it's queued up, appreesh! EDIT: Okay, now it's playing -- yeah, really dig. So pretty hearing those triple vocal lines.
  15. case/lang/veirs
  16. Is that English or Metric? And why don't the English use English, and why don't the Americans use Metric?

Yeah, it's on my list, along with the El Capistan. Order direct, it's slightly cheaper.

    I'm touching myself tonight.
  19. Aren't you beholden to Texas for the time being, Steve? I've daydreamed about you getting a job with PRS (local-ish luthier), but then I realized you wouldn't move here.
  20. The ER-20 earplugs are rebranded as a lot of other things. To my (admittedly deteriorating) ears, all the tri-flange ones sound similar, so just get one of those at CVS or Guitar Center. Oh, and: JH13.

So which one do I want, the ER4PT? Or should I just get the HF5?
  22. Self-defense is also an option. Christina Grimmie's brother showed that.
