  1. I think you heard that wrong -- was what you heard something more along these lines?
  2. Bunch o' Snarky Puppy on YouTube: This is one of the more energetic ones:
  3. Hot and Sour soup -- sweating profusely, but induced, so melikey
  4. A friend of mine has an ackDac whose battery just died, and he's wondering if it's worth it to replace the $75 battery (if he even can?) or if there's a good current DAC for around $200 that he should just upgrade to. I'm long since out of the market for DACs in that price range -- anyone know? Doesn't even need USB, just RCA.
  5. It stood out because it was one of the least offensive ones? I kind of like 'Slippery Gypsy'. (Please don't ruin it by explaining it.)
  6. That actually makes more sense than my explanation. I went to lunch with him and MPI once to a place in Rockville we used to call cheap Chinese -- fusion place, they sold sushi and Chinese -- I saw them both order a full helping of both (Chinese and sushi) and not flinch at the size of the portions delivered and both chowed down their entire meal.
  7. Ah, the metabolism of youth, I miss it.
  8. Isn't that the one with the wonky seal?
  9. Blur, The Magic Whip
  10. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  11. Yeah, I have yet to see him live, I need to one of these days...
  12. The Neighbourhood -- I've been listening to a lot of Archive lately, and they've been reminding me of someone, couldn't put my finger on until just now -- and it's not just how close the songs "Fuck U" and "Afraid" are -- I just really dig this sound -- British, alternative, slightly trip-hoppity. Both are recommended. Archive are more ... I don't know, addicitve? ... to me, but The Neighbourhood are probably more accessible.
  13. Looks like it needs charging. EDIT: Some reporter out there bought one in-store
  14. <-- Troll quote victim. Also, there's an update at the bottom of the article.
  15. HAPPYish series premiere -- oh my, I'm only 5 minutes in, and I'm laughing so hard I can't breathe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ryw5c5X3Ec&feature=youtu.be "Why bother with you at all, I could just get a bottle of wine and a blood pressure cuff." I'm crying. EDIT: Holy shit: "We're all sucking the same cocks...wincing at the taste doesn't make you a better man...it makes you a worse whore."
  16. Okay, now I'm listening to No More Shall We Part. This is sublime. It seems they alternate between albums like Goldfrapp do -- this is in the same vein as Push the Sky Away. IMHO. Side note: yes, I am the musical equivalent of a schizophrenic -- I'm not even finished listening to one album before the whimsical desire to listen to another crops up. I can't listen to albums fast enough. This may be why my preferred listening venue is the car -- captive audience, don't want to be distracted from driving, so I feel obliged to let <whatever> play. Too bad no headphones. And road noise. I even named my (failed) music blog, "by the time you read this, I'm listening to something else".
  17. ...or do I? I mean, I can always use the backpack straps as a body strap, neh? "Single-shoulder it", as they said in 21 Jump Street.
  18. Thanks for anticipating my request for the recipe...I wonder what I can substitute for cheese? It doesn't sound like it'd be as good without the cheese to compliment the spicy flavours.
  19. Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus is/are still my favourites, by a long shot. First of theirs that I absolutely loved from start to finish; before that, I was only a haphazard fan. I do still appreciate their other work, but these two just do it for me like nothing else they've done. EDIT: And of course they're not on Tidal, so I'm listening to Time Out and Anniemal.
