  1. Facebook video of levitation via lack of treated acoustical spaces nodes. (Next, they'll be tickling the pleasure centers of our brains while feeding us subliminal messages.) Yeah, I was just going to post this.
  2. Yeah, RIP. As much as that was an earworm, it never bothered me that much, plus, can't deny his talent.
  3. Apetrof, Cyber Life -- mostly because I was searching for "pink Floyd tribute" and this came up because of one track, but the whole album intrigued me and...does anyone remember acid jazz? That's pretty much what disk one was. Disk two isn't bad vaguely drum-n-bass-ish stuff. Haven't gotten to disk three yet.
  4. Don't give him ideas, man, he probably has all the parts.
  5. Outstanding on all counts, Crappy.
  6. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is back. And did I mention the second season of Broadchurch has started? Also, look, it's that chick from Torchwood Eve Myles.
  7. That's too bad, but you won't regret the Subaru, so you have that peace of mind to look forward to. Although I'd go XV Crosstrek, myself.
  8. Yeezh.
  9. Happy birthday, Larry! What he said about getting better every day. (party favour noise)
  10. Joe Jackson's Body and Soul -- it was its 31st anniversary (of release) yesterday (3/14).
  11. Is head-fi down again?
  12. Get in touch with Hirsch -- he'll know who to send it to.
  13. http://xkcd.com/1498/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/booknews/11469216/Fans-petition-Death-to-reinstate-Terry-Pratchett.html You'll excuse me, I have something in my eye.
  14. Next you'll be wanting to try the kanji nibs that write thin one way and fat the other (they're basically flat-surfaced nibs).
  15. Taking a detour from Joe Jackson to listen to Public Service Broadcasting's The Race for Space -- which is kind of proggy, sample laden, space rock. "Valentina" is beautifully tranquil.
  16. I has a major sad.
  17. Broadchurch Season 2, Episode 1.
  18. Joe Jackson -- albums Look Sharp! through Laughter and Lust skipping Will Power because I'm more interested in his song-oriented stuff right now. Not sure about the soundtracks, will see when I get to them. On Tidal.
  19. Happy birthday, Ryan! (blows a party favour in your general direction)
  20. www.criterion.com/sale All in-stock Blu-rays and DVDs 50% for the next...15 hours? with promo code SPRING.
  21. Steve Hackett is fantastic live, though I haven't seen any of the Genesis Revisited shows.
  22. New Sister Machine Gun EP -- I really love this kind of music, "hard pop" I call it, but there's more to it than that -- the combination of electric guitars and synthesizers is just my cup of tea. And the production has to be of a sort. Stabbing Westward, God Lives Underwater, Curve, Garbage, Gravity Kills, etc. And this one doesn't suck. Also, a 24/96 of Steven Wilson's Hand. Cannot. Erase. -- this is sublime, I really think his songcraft is at an all time peak, and I can really feel the inspiration that he got from the story, because it feels like he wants to convey something that's not his, putting it before himself. Even the solos seem perfectly placed, in service to the song over just wankynoodlecraft.
  23. Stax never acknowledged the nomenclature, but the differences are enough that they need designating, so only by investigation -- both scientific and detective -- can we identify approximately when Stax made those changes. And it requires someone with sufficient numbers of pairs passing through his hands and a knowledge of engineering to do it. Hence why we trust spritzer to do it.
  24. Yeah, that's still pretty impressive. Happy birthday, Bonnie!
