  1. SPC ECO, Space and Time, Vols. 1 & 2 (compilation, separated into noisy/alternative and ambient/darkwave)
  2. Rick Miller, Breaking Point This is really good! Nice and dark with lots of minor chords and a nice back and forth between vocals and music with pretty melodies.
  3. Ah, that makes more sense, I thought I heard two different tracks between "The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove" and the Frozen Synapse track.
  4. Oh my, my dad's favourite movie was 12 Angry Men. http://www.cc.com/video-clips/a34x98/inside-amy-schumer-debating-the-dildo?xrs=synd_youtube_050415_ias_64
  5. Hey, I'm trying to figure out the track from 5/15, starts about 1:14 from the showreel. You called it "Shen's Descendant" "Nervous_Testpilot_Menu" from the "Frozen Synapse soundtrack", but when I went searching, I found this. I guess I could just listen to them both, back-to-back.
  6. Well, wait a minute, are you saying that a K1000 sounds like a HD600 sounds like a Beats sounds like an Apple earbud sounds like a Sony MDR-7506/-V6? Apologies to any of you who are prone to dizziness.
  7. That is correct, but now he'll have two! If only until he moves out of the other one.
  8. Congrats! I like the way you think -- team doesn't-fuck-around FTW!
  9. ...makes baby jesus weep. Look at the size of that ping! I must have the biggest ping here.
  10. I'm not that worried about it, but thanks. I have to admit, in hindsight, I really admire the fact that she wasn't afraid to go to a concert alone -- many people are too codependent for that (including my friend Dave with whom I went last night).
  11. Just came back from Steven Wilson -- that was fantastic. They played the entirety of Hand. Cannot. Erase. (except for Transience) interspersed with Raven, Watchmaker, Index, Harmony Korine, Lazarus, and a couple others. Lots of multimedia stuff (I'm almost at the point where I don't want to hear Raven without the video), and fantastic playing, especially by Nick Beggs and Adam Holzman. The guitarist was fantastic, and the drummer was spot on (although not Gavin...although no-one is). Darn near perfection. Slightly different setlist -- my friend in the UK went, they played the entire album first, then all the other stuff after. Here, they played up to about Home Invasion, then shifted to Index and played a bunch of other stuff, then played the rest of the album, then played Watchmaker, and then Raven as the final encore. EDIT: Didn't get the sequencing exactly right. Setlist. Really cute girl next to me, too. Alone...wearing a Marillion T-shirt (indicating that she genuinely likes prog, for those that don't know -- a genre I am very fond of). I left her alone, though, it'd probably be creepy being asked by a guy 2ce her age for her phone number...dagnabit. Sometimes I hate being me.
  12. That salmon had me drooling so hard I didn't post. I need to stop visiting this thread.
  13. Laibach posted their tour expenses breakdown: So, so did Caustic:
  14. BBQ brisket at Bungalow ale house...and cornbread
  15. 1 1/4 pounds boneless beef chuck cut into 1/2 inch cubes 1/3 cup water 2 red onions chopped 2 fresh Portobello mushrooms, stems discarded and diced (I scrape the gills out with a spoon before I dice them to keep the chili from being too dark) 2 large carrots (3/4 lb) diced 3 garlic cloves thinly sliced 1 cup dark beer (I prefer a medium red ale it's not as strong, broth or water will work too) 1/4 cut tomato paste 1 chipotle en adobo seeded and finely chopped (I found these in small can in the Mexican food section - freeze the rest for next time) 3 tablespoons honey 3 tablespoons chili powder 2 teaspoons ground cumin 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano 1 tablespoon cornmeal (I skip this completely) 1/4 cut light sour cream for topping if desired spray a large nonstick skillet with nonstick spray and set over medium high heat. Add half the beef and cook until browned about 4 minutes. Transfer the beef to a 5 to 6 quart slow cooker. Repeat with remaining beef Add the water to the skillet; bring to a boil stirring constantly to scrape the brown bits from the bottom of the skillet (I skip this step if nothing stuck to my skillet). Transfer the liquid to the slow cooker. Add the onions, mushrooms, carrots, garlic, beer, tomato paste, chipotle, honey, chili powder, cumin and oregano; mix well. Cover and cook until the beef and vegetable's are fork tender. 4-5 on high or 8-10 on low. (I think low or a mixture of high for an hour or two and then low for longer -- just make sure the meat is tender) (I skip this step) About 20 minutes before the cooking time is up, gradually stir the cornmeal into the slow cooker until blended; cover and cook on high until thickened, about 15 minutes. Serve with sour cream enjoy -- this is a weight watcher recip3 1 1/3 cup serving with 1 tablespoon sour cream is 337 calories, 9g fat, 6 g fiber, 7 points
  16. Bumping...here's what I posted on Facebook, paraphrasing: I know you don't like war. None of us do. I know you want what's best for our soldiers, to come home, all of us do. I know you may disagree with the politics of some of our politicians. All of us do at one point or another. And to protect our rights, from hostile enemies who don't share our values and wish to change us, we have our soldiers. And some of those soldiers do not come home. This day, remember them. I give thanks to those who have paid the ultimate price in these violent times. I hope they all are resting in peace now.
  17. Well if you need any more, you know who to ask... My ex also has a beer chili recipe I've been meaning to try.

    You have the weirdest problems.
  22. ...of Meara and Stiller fame. EDIT: I mean, Stiller and Meara -- why do I always do that? And I did it back then, too, so it's got nothing to do with geezin'.
