  1. There's a double-entendre in there somewhere... Oh hey look, there's another one.
  2. Unless a majority of your source material (because of one's taste in music) is inferior, in which case accommodations should be made. And even so, there's always compromises -- does one go for the flattest frequency response, or the least THD? I listen to a lot of "busy" music, so ...what's it called -- intermodulation distortion? ...is pretty important to me.
  3. More Mic Porn for Knucks:
  4. Well...yeah! Good luck with that.
  5. Well, that's probably an individual thing based on blindness and glasses prescription strength. I am fairly hard of seeing, but my glasses put me right back at 20/20, I think. I'm at about 7 feet from a 42, myself, and that distance is right on the edge.
  6. At 9 feet, I wouldn't recommend more than 46, in fact I'd probably stick with 42. Otherwise you're going to start to see pixels.
  7. I just want to thank all the bumpers -- I'm pretty sure the correlation between day (and time) I saw a bump and actual free tracks downloaded is 1:1.
  8. I think he's referring to the difficulty in finding an adequate amp and source for the headphones, as well as still referring to the "engage" comment. I mostly agree with him. I think people should have to try that hard if they want to, I just don't find myself wanting to. That said, I really need to hear these again.
  9. And...over it. Graham Butler, Dread Fascination proggy prog
  10. Was: Julie London Is: Vicki Carr ...in an easy listening mood

  12. I could see how that would go. Girl goes in for facepainting..."you know, I could do more than just face paint"..."ok, sure"...gets completely enraptured painting everything else, never gets back to painting the face... Mmm...Felicity...my favourite character on TV right now...she's like that character on Joss Whedon shows that says the really awkward stuff (Anya, Fred, etc.)...
  13. ...and it's an automatic. Lollers. No, seriously, yay, the important thing is that you like it.
  14. Workaholism? That's what my dad did, more or less (he left me alone with 2 sisters and a mom). I was alright, though, it's not so bad. It'll be great for you.
  15. http://us.moo.com/merrymusic/ Minutes of fun! Uh...warning, the bass adds up. I just felt wind on my face.
  16. It's a good time for selfies.
  17. Happy birthday, o blackest hearted one. (Gothic party favour noise) Beautiful, heavy, distortion-laden black heart.
  18. Unholy carp, is that real?!?!?
  19. From the "Is the Remaster Better?" thread: That said, thanks for posting that information -- I'm always looking for high-res music that pertains to my tastes more than the usual high-fi recordings, even though I often enjoy those, too, sometimes I just want to listen to something different what I want to listen to.
  20. One of the nice things about SoundCloud is the uploader (usually the music maker or someone associated with them) has to look at the waveform every time they visit the page, so if it's just a big swath of grey or orange, then they are reminded on a daily basis how much they suck. Look at this crap. I'm sure there are even worse examples.
  21. 36X Nick Cave -- a Russian Nick Cave tribute. Quite compatible, actually, a lot of Russians have that same low drawl and a fondness for the dark folk and cabaret. Don't know how good the translations are, my Russian is a little too rusty.
  22. The Dear Hunter, Migrant -- mostly somber indie prog. Dusty like.
