I've seen 'em circling before, but never this close to the ground...feeding...developing kind of a defensive posture as I walked past...

Pretty sure I saw a vulture on my walk today...trying not to think about what that means... Sent from mah phone-blet via Tapatalk

If the wikipedia article is correct, "...each new ledger update creates some newly-minted bitcoins..." (involuntarily shudders) Yeah, if just a simple ledger update spontaneously creates bitcoins, it is indeed a pyramid scheme. Also, what's it backed with, if anything? Presumably in 2140, everyone is going to want to cash theirs in, as they no longer have any redeeming value. Good luck with that. No, I've never used bitcoin, this is the first I heard of it, but I will definitely be keeping an eye on it. Seems like a cybercrime waiting to happen. Bonnie, in answer to your question, I think the wiki article is fairly revealing, if typically inaccurate, but it should at least give you the concept so that you can read the other articles with more understanding. It's supposed to be a peer-to-peer digital money system, but the truth is, in order to maintain singular copies of each bitcoin subdivision, it needs to be registered with the Bitcoin miners. In the referenced article, I still don't grasp what stops both parties in the "take a picture" transaction from maintaining that they own said bitcoin subdivision. So I don't grasp the entirety of it yet. Reminds me of a bit of the in-game currency in Reamde. I wonder if Neal Stephenson has anything to do with this...

Alright, I'll preface this with ... you're right, about the midbass bloom -- great big sunflowers in your face with a fisheye lens bloom. But on instrumental music, I find recessed mids much less distracting than I do with vocal music, so I'm not hearing the recessed mids as much. But the highs are really nice for a closed headphone. I definitely agree with the Sony comparison on the highs. (Listening to some ancient Brubeck. Piano does sound pretty good. Will try some EQ.)

Ben Templesmith rules: It's like a more eloquent "i put on my wizard cape and hat"... EDIT: Missed one, this might be my favourite:

The Vincent Black Shadow -- RIYL: Garbage, Jakalope, Guano Apes, and, to a lesser extent, No Doubt (mostly just her voice)

Hardly anyone here is familiar with the HD202, so won't be able to help. If your first step was with your right foot, then the logical next step is with your left. And vice versa. Also the Shure is much more balanced than the Beyer, especially in the mids. I would definitely not call it overhyped (smiley-face frequency response). Unless you mean that too many people say too many good things about it, that may be. Maybe he's just a fan of the Kong Lives Original Soundtrack (yes, it took me that long to think of a name of a movie with the initials, 'k.l.').

Wait, what am I looking at? Is the dotted line the phone's route history? Looks like it stayed in the cab for a long time, and if so the GPS coulda worn it out. But yeah, I understand the fry your phone option, I think it might be time. PS The phone company has access to some of this information and some you don't -- you could at least ask them if anyone tried to do anything with it after you last used it.

Happy belated! (party favour noise)

I just assumed it was so he could see what he was doing. ;-p

I wouldn't rule it out yet. ( a ) That might not have been the cab. ( b ) They might not have otherwise known how to shut it up besides powering it down.

I've heard that before -- basically, that diet and exercise should be treated separately. Diet for weight loss, exercise for ...uh... the benefits of exercise (better circulation, etc.). I know of no-one who has gone that route and hasn't had success.

I could not figure out what to listen to today, so I listened to some Funkadelic, Stevie Wonder, Motown, Robert Randolph & co., and Rock Candy Funk Party -- I'm really digging this album, We Want Grooove.

Not even, when head-fi goes down, we can get three in a day. Also, I love Basic Instructions. My avatar on Facebook was stolen from one of my favorite episodes:

Yeah, that is particularly useful as a spreadsheet. (sorts on column 'H')

Re: Dita's dress -- looks like they ran out of ink before they were done, neh? On an unrelated note, do you think they'll say "neh" a lot in Ender's Game the Movie? I'm curious if that'll translate well. I always feel like such a goof when I say that out loud.

Gorgeous!

Catching only the tail end of this. Argh. EDIT: "2 more." almost an hour ago. Thanks.

Well, that's the grand question, isn't it? I think it's largely a matter of preference. Besides, since when have we ever listened to anyone else's opinions besides our own? "supposed to be", lollers. Todd -- towards the bottom of this page is a section on DSD downloads.

Actually, if you had waited until 6:27am tomorrow morning, she probably would have found it at 6:31am tomorrow morning -- at least, that's been my experience with Murphy's law. Next time, you can put a hold on the card -- makes it inaccessible, but doesn't cancel it, if you really think you can find it again.

Songs in the Key of Life -- unlimited edition -- still pretty brilliant, I really need to listen to Stevie more. Dude understands everything I love about music -- melody, groove, jamming, he even experimented with some unorthodox elements in his music.
