  1. Obviously he needs to remove the crossovers and replace them with digital active crossovers and amps. Also the driver elements and the cabinets.
  2. UnSun, Clinic for Dolls -- progressive gothic metal with female vocals...love it. Not sure if this qualifies as corny or not, but...let's put it this way: I've listened to -- and enjoyed -- much cornier (Helloween comes to mind). I guess it just depends on your perspective -- I find a lot of blues way too intolerably corny. EDIT: Scratch the "progressive" part -- I was distracted by the syncopated beat of the first song.
  3. No, it's not just epic THD, it's the choice of even and odd harmonics, methinks...probably even that is an oversimplification (believe me, I've played with a variety of distortions -- one of the good things about the Alesis Quadraverb GT is that it has several different kinds of analog distortion, which all sound different...and no, I have yet to hear a digital plugin that sounds anything as good as a good analog distortion).
  4. Partnership with Zound Industries, I'm finding a lot of information about looks, but very little about technical details...which does not bode well. Also, if it's anything like a Marshall amp, it will distort like crazy, but I will still want one. Also, interesting setup -- looks "boxy", like an ortho. EDIT: Also, black:
  5. :wumpscut:, Siamese -- classic old school electro-industrial. "Loyal to My Hate" is a favorite track, I might have to make it my ringtone:
  6. Okay, when you put it like that...not so bad. Still don't think I'd choose that particular color myself, though.
  7. I bet it still depends how you hold it. That's one fugly shade of green, though.
  8. I'm more of a Wonderama guy, myself. "It isn't easy, going all day, Winning and losing in the games that we play, Doing our homework, Learning in school, And trying to live by the golden rule. And so we hope You'll understand, And try to give a helping hand..."
  9. I love both those records, so both are very good news. It would be too much to ask for high res recordings? The Queen song is probably "Get Down Make Love". I distinctly remember going to his first concert (opening act for Jesus & Mary Chain, whom we walked out on) with Richard Patrick (now, Filter) on guitar, and thinking (even discussing) that we hoped he'd do a cover, it'd be wonderful to hear his take on someone else's music, and being pleased as punch with the result. I don't remember if he did any other covers that night, but that's the one that stood out, that was the good one.
  10. (squints)
  11. Wait, what? That's metal.
  12. Needed to get a fix of some old Deep Purple, so listening to a random sampling of tracks from Shades of..., Book of Taliesyn, and the self-titled one. Essentially, Purple Passages, the album I grew up with.
  13. Chicken Korma
  14. The Orb w/David Gilmour, Metallic Spheres -- just what it sounds like, classic the Orb grooves, with arguably the greatest guitarist jamming on top of it. But the out-of-tune-with-each-other samples shit has got to go -- that's about as annoying to me as growling metal vocals.
  15. Overgeneralization, but still statistically valid: DAC >> DVD player. Just because the DVD player is usually trying to do too much that isn't necessary when just playing CD.
  16. Ditters. Well almost -- the only thing I will eat at McDonald's is the Walnut & Fruit salad. Dusty: tuna salad sandwich w/Provolone and lots of black pepper (Dusty joins the 'refers-to-self-in-3rd-person' club)
  17. Would that work? Isn't it more than likely running off the same power supply?
  18. Then you would have known the answer to:
  19. Yeah, but what you have to realize is that this is the sort of thing that causes us to just stay home all weekend.
  20. Notwist, "12":
  21. I enjoyed buying these two together. "Or how do you call a thing that eats itself?"
  22. I'm in -- she had one of her characters say, "Pffft." Twice.
  23. I like the way you think and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  24. Moar Bell's 25th Anniversary. And two jars of honey.
  25. I just want to make sure I understand correctly -- why wouldn't it be legal if you bought the OS and the computer? Is there something in the TOA that says you can't put it on a computer that doesn't have the on it?
