  1. I have a feeling I'll be getting tomorrow's as well.
  2. Maybe he had it set to DC. Every time you guys write 'DC', I think 'wow, yet another Dusty Chalk reference...no, wait, they mean District of Columbia'.
  3. It must have just come out, be patient. And who are you to talk, oh Mr. I've-tried-Dark-Lord? I haven't even had 3F anything yet. Oh yes you will. Which nights are class nights for you again?
  4. Dude. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I can't grow a beard, because it basically looks like pubic hair. I honestly believe I have some Mongolian blood in me. On my dad's side -- he was from Eastern Europe/Western Russia, but farther back in the lineage, I don't see it as completely unfeasible for there to be some East-Asian blood somewhere in there. I have two pieces of advice: #1 -- patience -- give it as much fucking time as you can. #2 -- tease the shit out of it. ("Teasing" has a very specific meaning with hair.)
  5. QFA. Not so odd, really.
  6. Isn't that a Residents side project? Which is funny, because the rumor was, the Residents is a side project of...uh...(I'll put it in quotes, so that you know I'm quoting the rumor)...a side project of "serious" musicians (and by "serious", I mean the Beatles, which I believe everyone by now knows is not the case, but...someone like the Beatles).
  7. He had another one with zero negative feedback which was nothing but opamps feeding into each other (yes, the circuit diagram was basically a pyramid). I think it was an exercise in silliness, but still...
  8. moar beer: Moylan's Kiltlifter, yeti imperial stout, and Voodoo Vator Forgot: also spotted: Dogfish Head Namaste...in a bottle. And it was only a couple dollars more than the glass I had, so a bargain. Also: I now have over a case and a half of Tiny -- I should start drinking that shit on a regular fucking basis, otherwise the sudden drop in sales is going to send the wrong message to Weyerbacher.
  9. Battlestar Galactica complete series on blu-ray, $133 @ amazon
  10. Those are rather two disparate watches (I'm assuming whichever Invicta you're looking at is not a skeleton). If you are interested in skeletons, might I recommend leaning towards Android. I'm very fond of my few Androids, and they have some very cool skeleton designs (e.g. the Prism, the Mystique, etc.). And tend to be cheaper than either Invicta, Renato, and Stuhrling. But you should also watch out for the upcoming Invicta (I forget its name...Divemaster?) -- instead of the rotator being visible on the back (as they usually are on skeletons, or any automatics with exhibition backs), there's a submarine propellor.
  11. ...or a hurricane and 24 inches of snow.
  12. orange chicken from Ricky's Rice Bowl
  13. That's a lot of courses. And rather mixed up, culturally. (Not meant as a criticism, just...noting.) Shit, I forgot to eat dinner again. I'm going to go grab a yogurt.
  14. Really, processors aren't getting that much faster -- the bottlenecks are becoming the hard drive (and associated -- e.g., sata controller, etc.) and the memory. They're evolving both sideways (I.E. quad cores and hex cores), and with the whole rearchitecturing thing (i3, i5, i7, etc. vs. previous pentium-based architectures). In other words -- any of those should be fine, even the i3. For things like email, web, desktop production (especially what I would call "consumer level" desktop production -- graphic artists are a whole different thing), your problem won't be the machine, it'll be other things (I add "network" to my above list of examples -- especially for web-browsing). The only time you need a more powerful machine if you're doing something moar hardcoar -- gaming, number crunching, video processing, image processing (which would mostly be memory), music processing...and someone like me, who really doesn't do anything, but just craves power. Don't feel obliged to do what I do. If you do a lot of multi-tasking, then I would concentrate on boosting memory (including making sure she gets a 64-bit operating system), and getting moar coars. Sorry, mah cat is helping me tahp.
  15. moar Tiny moar Consecrator moar Fordham doppelbock moar BrewDog RipTide and one Pike KiltLifter...coming soon, Battle Of The Scotch Ales
  16. Still working mah wah through the AK 100 box set -- No Regrets For Our Youth is taking forever (it will be across three nights).
  17. It'd be nice if they invented an AI that could -- after someone clicked the "post" button -- instead jump you to the single oldest post most resembling yours, and then you could read the responses, as if they were directed at you.
  18. Paul Chambers, Whims of Chambers
  19. There are a lot of Apple stores around here.
  20. It's all about displacement -- all you need is a big enough rowboat.
  21. ShopNBC sells it (or did sell it, or will sell it, I don't know) for ~$100, which means sale price will be about 80, so it's on the good side, but not a steal. Get it if you want it, but don't get it because you think it's 89% off -- they never sell for full MSRP.
  22. "Karlie"? I know a lot of guys name their schlong, but I've never known one to name their condom.
