  1. (dreamy look crosses face) This. Me, too (as soon as I can track down a copy).
  2. I like 'em already. They give good web.
  3. Would it be possible to put the drive in an external enclosure, attach to a different computer, delete the appropriate executables, and then try cleaning it? Just thinking outside the box, might be useless suggestion. (In my case, I'd just boot to my linux partition, mount the windows partition, and work on it that way.)
  4. Porcupine Tree, Anesthetize
  5. [punctuation-pedant sarcasm]Why are you sorry you posted this over there as well?[/sarcasm]
  6. Moral of the story: always check the URL before clicking -- and that doesn't just go for head-case.
  7. Yeah, except the recommendation was for Jin, not for you, and since he's coming from the pop slant, I still think he might dig. Agreed that it is probably on the outermost edges of the genre, especially something like "Divided" (vs. "If I Fall", which I think falls well within the genre).
  8. Heavier? Moar expensive?
  9. Tara Maclean? Oh, and the king of crossover: Chris Isaak.
  10. Just had some Pho. Is it possible for a place to have negative atmosphere? Because if it is, this place did. White, undecorated walls; ancient 70's chairs; linoleum floors; and that 70's turquoise for the primary color. It kind of put me in mind of my high school cafeteria (not of good mind, mind you). That said, once I got over it, the food was quite delicious. Quite. And fast. And the service was spot on -- the water was waiting for me at my table, as if she knew I was going to sit there; she refilled my water exactly when I wanted her to, and otherwise left me alone to magazines, but with the feeling that if I needed her attention, she'd be right there -- it was practically psychic. I will definitely eat there again.
  11. Yeah, but which half? But Which Half?!?!? EDIT: That was actually in response to Vicki's post, not yours, but it's funny seeing it applied to yours. Neko Case and Gillian Welch are new Americana or alt.country, aren't they? Is that what interests you? The following suggestions are based entirely on that premise, because other than that, I have no interest knowledge myself in any of those other genres. I would definitely check out Allison Moorer. No Depression by Uncle Tupelo is considered a turning point. Early Wilco. Jim White is fun. The Devics are absolutely sublime.
  12. 'bout $300 in cat food and kitty litter (for three cats)
  13. Which is why I tend toward what I suspect will be the better beers first. Not because I'm shooting for "critique", but because I'm drinking mostly for the taste. And I tend to "group" ... I.E. all stouts -- or all bocks -- in one night.
  14. I think it's a matter of order, rather than choice.
  15. Which is why the first question was, which operating system was he running.
  16. What operating system are you running? More than 4G is worthless on 32-bit operating systems, since it never gets addressed (I think that still applies to Macs).
  17. As did I, thanks for the heads-up.

Cow. But I like your wording better, of course.

Alright, the joke is not lost, it just...becomes a different joke. "How now, bronze cow?"

I have to admit, I was wondering what it was doing in Chicago, but thought maybe it was a duplicate or sumpin. And no, it's not a cow, then the joke'd be lost.
  21. FET? Dew et. I my Creek OBH-11SE.
  22. chicken & beef mixed vegetables ("double delight"), fried rice, and orange beef.
