  1. I think I have one thing by Two Lone Swordsmen, I'll check them out further (seeing that Radioactive Man is 1/2 of Two Lone Swordsmen, correct?).
  2. I love that Little Computer People album. Need moar like that.
  3. Jesus Christ, that's creepy. Who did they use for white guy's colorings, Matthew Broderick?
  4. Okay, now you're back to spammy, Danny.
  5. On deck: Black Books S3
  6. I compared a β22 with my Singlepower Supra++. The β22 was deliciously transparent, but I still prefer tubes. It's probably just psychological. You know, "ooh, orange glow == fire == good to caveman".
  7. No, but we could have an "edumacate Duggeh on all things prog" thread for a while, if you'd like. If we tried to have a full time prog thread, I think I'd just end up lurking in it, unfortunately. I really listen to most of my prog in the car.
  8. Well, as I said before, you could thicken the pins with conductive paint, or you could try bending them so they make contact at at least one point, but those are both kludges, and do not in any way preclude what else has been said.
  9. I think he went with the 37" monitor. 47" would be a bit much. Especially at only 1080p.
  10. Thanks for the link.
  11. Yesh, it's good stuff. Excellent, my plan is working. Next I'll get you onto Happy the Man and Pekka Pohjohla...
  12. Ah! No! You should have gotten Complete, it has everything. EDIT: That's everything that was available at the time, I think something has come out since then that may not be on there.
  13. The corner busters work surprisingly well -- I've heard a room treated with them. Dew et.
  14. Find your hard drive. Right Click->Get Info. If you're getting towards the last x% of available disk space, look up "mac slow indexing", as it's probably stuck in an indexing loop. Clear off some of the disk space, then follow the instructions to reset the indexes. That's just my guess. Maybe little monkey was downloading porn?
  15. Why are your speakers perpendicular to your TV viewing area? I have a friend who has a very similar setup, and he has the speakers towards the openings (Gallo Reference 3.0's), and that works out pretty well. And yeezh on the windows and fireplace -- I don't know what to do about the fireplace (cover it with felt?), but the windows should be easy enough -- heavy cloth drapes.
  16. Correct, not the Eurythmics one. This one, not this one. Also, same Dave Stewart of Stewart & Gaskin, though that's more pop than prog. But still good, since he was involved.
  17. Why would someone be soldering down there?
  18. I doubt yours has the...er...what look like "solder nipples"? They don't look right. I have no idea what the purpose to them was, so I'm suspecting side-effect from some other process, such as making them shorter from using non-standard materials? Confirm/deny, Nate/anyone?
  19. Pfff. Not bloody likely. (pictures guy in an alley with a trench coat who looks like Dick Dastardly for some reason, "hey guy, wanna buy some popcoooooorn? Hmm?")
  20. One of Stax' better color schemes, methinks.
  21. The short answer is yes, you should do something like this. I wouldn't use snips, though, as you may deform them in the process. If you can get them ground to the same length, that would be optimal. Yes, it is possible to make them too short, but you'd have a long way to go in that realm. The static is from an intermittent contact -- you might try some of that silver conductive paint that people are doing (although be careful not to join two adjacent pins electrically), as an alternative.
  22. I'm a big Dave Stewart fan -- even kept a subscription to Keyboard magazine when he was writing a column for them. You should also check National Health.
  23. Nah, g'ahead, do it again.
  24. I eat unsalted, unsugared popcorn, so...I have to wonder what happened to your tastebuds, do you smoke?
