How local is local, is it something you can go and check out for yourself? Because if it's really NIB that's a no-brainer, I'll buy it off you if you change your mind.

Yeah, I know I'm in the minority, but I find the DT770's (I've used only the 600 ohm and 120 ohm versions, though) an excellent metal can. I like my metal to have bass. But the usual recommendation of Grado's for metal doesn't apply here, methinks. I think Jack is onto something with the Sennheiser recommendation, that might be a better choice, it's just not something I'd recommend, as I don't like them.

I'm with postjack -- it's probably the source material, but a second set of cans could cure your blues, perhaps the DT770's for metal.

I'm not sure I'm familiar with both those EoE albums...are you familiar with Charged, or are you into them from the Mick Harris or Bill Laswell angles? EDIT: No, I'm pretty sure I have two EoE albums...

When someone like me or Nate ban someone, the title goes automatically to Banned, and we can't do anything about it -- only Jacob can change the actual text of a personal title to "Not Allowed to Post", so it was probably him that did the latter. He's just being more correct, because they're not really banned, they're just on enforced vacation.

JPNumbs -- I think I got you beat, I drove 14 hours/day over two days for a pair of speakers once. Of course, your speakers are nicer, I think. I never listen to mine (they're too big).

Yes, but I think they come with the option to downgrade automatically, if you look for the right combination. That said, you could get it to work, shouldn't be that much of a problem. My understanding of Skype is that it's pretty well supported.
