AA Powerstation 5.
Yeah, considering this guy makes umbilicals for AA, Monolithic, MSB Tech, and Musical Fidelity (that last one is a new one on me), I'm thinking you can interchange most of them. But you're right, you should check the specs. It the power supply is capable of delivering more amperage, that part is okay, but I would keep the voltage the same. I think (second opinions?).

Vintage DAC: Sonic Frontiers SFD-2
It being 15 years old would be my main reason for not getting it. Also, the US$900. If it was only US$100-200, I'd say yes, go for it, but me personally, I'd rather spend money on something more modern. Heck, can't you get a used Bel Canto 2 for that kind of money? I think I'd spend it on that instead. Also, I don't think it'll do anything other than 16/44.1 -- if you end up doing computer audio, you may end up regretting it.

What are you listening to Part Two
You know, it's been so long since I've heard them, it was almost like hearing them for the first time all over again. I had completely forgot how jammy/psychedelic they are (within context, of course).

Joss Whedon's Dollhouse
Yeah, let's just hope they don't "pull", period.

Joss Whedon's Dollhouse
I disagree with all of you, I think the balance between introducing all the characters and how they fit in, and having a story of its own that is interesting enough to pull you in right off the bat was perfect. Yes, I just finished watching it on hulu -- hooray for hulu.

Nice little toy from Bel Canto
I doubt converting one format of digital to another will introduce, amplify, or attenuate jitter. I suspect it will be exactly the same.

Neko Case - Middle Cyclone (03/03/2009)
Thanks. I actually thought of that about an hour later and looked up a couple of her Austin City Limits performances (on YouTube no less). Yeah, she's great -- the two I ran across made me think of Black Heart Procession.

Sounds like a good show, I like both those. Not enough to see 'em, but...enjoy the show. Me: Stooges, Raw Power & Funhouse

Neko Case, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood -- time to revisit this one, I guess. She got a lot of pianos for the next one, so I have high hopes for that one.

You know, I love movies like that. The shaky camera bit gets old, but the director does a good job of building tension gradually -- without starting out too tame -- and the payoff in the end is nicely satisfying. The Spielberg homage (leaving out the face of the antagonist for most of the film) was a nice touch.

Slept 'til almost 3, hung out in Alexandria with some folks. Made me realize how much I miss Alexandria/Arlandria.

I'll try that, thanks for the tip. I actually am confirmed at work for PayPal, but they still failed it for some reason. I asked them if they only tried the primary, but they couldn't answer me.

OneCall has some great prices, but they're so fucked up, I can't order from them. Because my primary billing address is a PO box for both CC and paypal, they can't ship to it.

AA Powerstation 5.
Are the MSB Technologies power supplies the same also? Also Channel Island audio? Or is that a different one? If so, I have a MSB Technologies floor wart you can have for cheap.

$9.99! Yeah, I imagine that would make for some pretty pungent poop, wouldn't it?! Or maybe the parents wear the diapers...

Pfff. 2. I have a friend who went through...8, I think? He loves it that much that he was willing to endure replacement after replacement.

I want a hearse. I've said it before, but I'll say it again -- wouldn't it be cool to show up at a gig in a hearse? They even have that convenient treadmill/rollers setup for getting things in and out from the back.
