HD800? Another rumor?
Hmmmm, I really think that Sennheiser will milk it for all it is worth. Make it seem desirable and in really short supply, and it becomes the perfect halo for the rest of the product line. And when another manufacturer manages a competing product, there will magically be several lower priced/specced versions.

They will try to make it seem like they are constantly sold out though......

Interesting DIY DACs?
I've got your output stage, right here. *pelvic thrust*

Interesting DIY DACs?
They have a discrete I/V stage in a second round of testing now, it won't be far away. That OPAMP output stage is surprisingly good though, and pretty inexpensive even if it is only temporary.

Interesting DIY DACs?
Surely the Twisted Pear Audio gear is worth a look at.

HEH, that's perfect. I've been watching through all my Futurama DVDs while I've been working at home, and said 'Good news everyone!' in my head before even reading the text

Burson Audio discrete headamp.
Mention of it popped up on a local forum I frequent, but I don't know of any local listening impressions or anything like that. But from my perspective, the page is just loaded with audiophool bullshit. For starters, anybody who thinks OPAMPs are inherently evil has never heard an MMM or amps of similar calibre. Not to mention some of it is just plain wrong...... 'True to our design methods, the HA-100 is built with a differential input stage. Neutralising our Burson Opamp technology it has no decoupling capacitor on its signal path.' Since when do DEcoupling caps go in the signal path?

Buffalo DAC opinions?
The TPA boys are currently testing their own 'Counterpoint' which does discrete I/V and can be used to directly drive the line outs. A lot of audiophools are creaming their pants over it on diyaudio.

What did you do today?
Try to imagine yourself in the Cretaceous Period. You get your first look at this "six foot turkey" as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird, lightly, bobbing his head. And you keep still because you think that maybe his visual acuity is based on movement like T-Rex - he'll lose you if you don't move. But no, not Velociraptor. You stare at him, and he just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from the side, from the other two 'raptors you didn't even know were there. [EDIT] Awww crap, beaten!

Help on HD600 amping with pico
Yeah, sold to a guy who lives just a half hour drive from me Good luck finding an amp - I really can't give you advice outside DIY options. Though FWIW if I was ever going to buy a decent commercial amp, it would almost certainly be a Headamp GS-1 or GS-X. Or maybe something from Woo Audio, as their amps are just so gorgeous.

Help on HD600 amping with pico
Ooooh, swing and a miss! You won't find many fans of those here...... and for the price, you'd be better off waiting for a Millett Max to come up for sale. If only certain assholes would be willing to ship internationally.....

Buffalo DAC opinions?
What a fucking awful job of assembling that power supply...... crooked capacitors, resistors and diodes sitting miles off the board......
