    lemme know what you think
  3. It's just not an exciting thing to take pictures of. There's a reason most photographers post process
  4. because a -96db sine wave is represented with exactly the same value on a 96/24 and 96/16 representation. The same is true with a -80db sine wave and a -24db sine wave. A -97db sine wave isn't able to be represented by a 96/16 representation, but is on a 96/24. The image you're showing represents sample rate. But nothing reproduces music with the stairsteps anyway, the sine wave is then interpolated and generated as an actual sine wave, as well.
  5. (d) there wasn't really anything in your snickers bar and you are either lying or hallucinated it.
  6. and as I've said before, more bits doesn't equal more resolution in the first 96 db, it just adds it to the end. The sample rate does make a difference, of course.
  7. The point is that 96db is more than you'll ever need at the listening end of things. More headroom is helpful in recording, but if you have a greater than 96db swing in your finished product, you're gonna blow things up. Including eardrums.
  8. I'll trust you to follow that contract if you make me the 2nd /me prepares to send vicki over to demo r10s for you...
  9. Goes along with how i audition gear. I use recordings I made myself with equipment I knew very well...
  10. Nope, you'll have to find them from ebay etc
  11. It can, tho 10.3 to 10.5 is a big jump, so save copies of anything you're concerned about

you can definitely get that way under $100, not counting the leads.
  13. higher resolution IS increased frequency range. As to enhanced dynamic range, CD can already go from church mouse to 747.

DLM was a great show. It looks like (from the hint) a U2 box set will be the 9pm EST gold box.
  15. amish stuff is reasonably priced in lancaster pa
  16. depends on the purpose. I mostly think all aerius looks to do is fuck with people.
  17. ah, ok, I didn't read his names.
  18. My opinion of ikea furniture is colored by moving it too many times. It's often great until you try and move it. It's also colored by having grown up in Hickory, NC. I designed and built my first piece of furniture when I was 12, and I'm not a big fan of particle board.

Vicki only pretends to have a budget anyway.
  20. I just think this is another case of aerius fucking with us. There's no way to tell which is the most accurate without actually seeing it live. My preference is for the 3rd one tho. And there are 5 so E would be the last one.
  21. and the cheap stuff at ikea is really shitty. There is no real cheap solution to furniture.
  22. I have an hdmi switch I'm not using from joytech that works pretty well...even has IR and the harmony remote knows how to make it work.
  23. Just like real life, eh?

It's too bad that suggestion is useless for vicki, given that the only source she can use in the office is her ipod.
