  5. The lavry has a custom usb receiver chip. A significant cost for the producer, much like custom drivers.
  6. It could be possible, but that would be illogical. 44/16 is standard for usb audio, and doing more requires custom drivers at the very least. Very few dacs are limited to 44/16 over spdif (coax or optical)
  7. I think it's theoretically possible to send 192 over optical. The trick would be finding 1) 192k source files, and 2) a transport that supports that.

  9. For me, the ESW10 is more impressive if you're in a quiet environment, listening for a while. Like most good headphones, there's subtlety there.

  23. Al, for anyone else, I'd say it's a good economical choice. But I know you have really high standards. I wouldn't be willing to bet the korg is better than the duet, for example.
  24. It comes with software to offload the files. But you're still stuck with nearly useless files. DSD is awfully niche. The conversion software is apparently ok. But I'd still think what dotu is shooting for is higher end than this.
