Mixed mode N is slower than N only, but still faster than G. So not pointless. The newest airport can do separate N and a/b/g networks.

Exactly. Anyone that orders hd800s and who has no intention of buying them under any circumstance is abusing the community. I hope those people use amazon's return policy instead of headroom's.

I've opened an ipod. It's not really that hard, you just have to be careful. It's a lot easier than replacing the dvd burner in a macbook, for example. You just need the right tool, and it takes just a couple of minutes. Just don't force it.

Stephen is selling an apple airport extreme that's a pretty darn good router cheap, that supports 802.11N and wifi disk and printer sharing. That's what I'd recommend.

If you're using itunes as the controlling software, you can get an ipod touch and remote software, and make it easy for her to control itunes. Or there are some other options that are also fairly easy, once they're configured.

I agree, that's what's killing meets and headfi in general... But anyway, it's one thing to acknowledge that it's futile to ask and another to revel in being a selfish ass like it's a right.
