  1. 1 Gb of ram does not meet the minimum requirements for Windows 7 as it requires 1 Gb of free memory. I know because I just upgraded the mom-in-laws laptop and had to upgrade the memory from 1Gb to 2 Gb. I would suggest keeping it an XP machine.
  2. Yep, I was just going for the quicker instant gratification type solution.
  3. You could always use a USB Blu-Ray drive on the Zino. Not an option on the mini.
  4. Excellent, I was more bummed because I thought you may not have had it for Christmas.
  5. Well it looks like my package arrived in Little Neck but the recipient may be in California right now.
  6. I used both bowls and flats depending upon the music but it does take a little while to acclimate to the different pads. I guess overall I used bowls a little more than flats, but then again I'm weird.
  7. Yep, I have never noticed a consistent difference between HP-1 and HP-2, over and above the expected unit to unit differences.
  8. Happy Birthday youngster.
  9. Happiest of Birthdays to You.
  10. x2. I guess that's 4x sorry.
  11. I really do not notice any difference in speed or accessability when using it on my netbook, where I should notice a difference, compared to the iMac or Mac mini. The apple way is only better if you are a pome.
  12. I don't think itunes sucks more on a PC compared to a MAC. It just wants to do things the Apple way, regardless of platform.
  13. When I sing "I Walk the Line".
  14. Put my gift under the tree. Mine should be arriving in Little Neck tomorrow.
  15. I agree with Dan here too. My netbook is like having a big portable drive with a useable screen. At my desk I can use a monitor bigger than any laptop screen. The portability has transformed my computer use as much as ripping my CD's to HD has transformed my music listening.
  16. ^^^Jargon post of the week
  17. Hooray for Bugsy. For me: Back on the internets, no thanks to Microsoft.
  18. Happy day-after your birthday.
  19. That can be arranged if you come to Canjam'10
  20. Actually one of the problems with the K701 is how the headphones are wired. Recabling them directly to the right and left drivers opens up the frequency extension on both ends. As stated before, they are a bitch to drive (ala K340 bitchiness) and definitely suffer in the midrange when underdriven. However, recabled and edequately powered (balanced definately helps) I consider them keepers. My pair is a fairly low serial number, so keep that in mind. I also did not notice much burn-in effect on these phones. I need to get a pair of HD800's to be absolutely sure, but my current impression is that the closest phone I have heard to the HD800 is my K701, but I think the K701 trumps it in the midrange.
  21. As others have said, I miss all the alcohol hanging out with you crazies. It looks like you are off to a roaring start. Keep up the good work, but I fear for Florida when Mike gets there and you guys reach critical mass.
  22. No arguement here.
  23. True, but their track-record with SlimDevices is not too shabby, so there is at least some hope.
