Did you rule out the source USB output? How many XDA-1s did you listen too to come to the conclusion that it is an XDA-1 problem and not a problem with your XDA-1? How did you rule out a cable issue? Thursday: Wrapped the pieces of Peter's bunk bed up 40 gal trash bags and plastic wrap. Friday. Loaded the bed into the back of the pickup truck (luckily I like puzzles) and we drove to Republic, MO to deliver the bed to my niece for Peter's two first cousins, once removed. Saturday: Hung out with various cousins, nephews, nieces, and grand nephews/nieces and then drove home.

That was Doug's point, it is just as subjective as an evaluation using approved audiophile descriptions. The fact that "metrics" were used does not change that since the metrics are crap. In fact it is really worse because it gives the impression of objectivity and scientific rigor when in fact there is really none. Whether it was done out of ignorance or intentionally is the real question.
