Within the last month or so I ordered 6 of them and they delivered 6. Five of the 6 have worked flawlessly in my NAS for almost a month. The sixth is a spare. But I do understand your skepticism.

Well I'm not sure I even know what neutral is but I can certainly say that on music I know well, I do not notice any huge differences in frequency balance between the airmotivs and the BHSE/007 mkI. Nice quiet background when sitting between 3 - 4 ft from the speakers. Edit: I'm not the person to compare anything o the HD800. Don't like them, especially for the price. If I was buying a Senn headphone, I would buy the 650s. I guess that's why I did.

Yep, I love the AirMotiv 5s. Would be a step up from the Audioengine 5s. Can't comment on the Quads. Edit: I am assuming you are listening in the near field.

Yep. That's where I was a few weeks ago and decided to apply typical HC overkill strategy to the problem. The 413 has a dual-core processor, double the RAM and USB 3.0 ports compared to the 413j. In general for the Synology units the j models differ in having less processing power and poorer external connections.

Well it looks like life is conspiring to keep me from attending any meets this year. My son's traveling soccer team has the IFC Spring Invitational meet on May 4 and 5. Therefore, I will not be able to attend the Canlanta meet. Royally bummed here but hopefully there will be a future payoff when I use my current sacrifice to guilt him into sending some money home from his huge Bundesliga (or Premier League) salary.

I am going to start using Crashplan with my Synology NAS because RAID IS NOT A BACKUP. Backblaze is not an option as they do not have a Linux version.
