I've pretty much given up on finding one at a reasonable price. If I had reasonable DIY skills I would build the clone.

I guess it is personal preference as my 11" MBA display is more than adequate on the move. I can also use the iPad retina as an extra display when necessary. At home the 24" external is quite nice though. The bottom line is other than the display, the real difference between an MBP and an MBA seems minimal for most people's needs, including mine. Plus weight becomes very important when you are trying to outrun zombies.

I can't even imagine lugging a 15" laptop around from class to class. That seems so 20th century.

Just my opinion but I really do not see an advantage of the rMBP over the MBA except the screen for most people. I'll take the weight savings every time, even with my seriously old eyes, and I do a lot of reading on the MBA.

Counting work computers I own all of them (including the mini) except the MBP, but Karen has an MBP. Edit: Didn't realize we were doing the numbers. MP, iMac (2), Mac Mini (2), MBA (2), MBP, ATV, AExt, AExp (3), iPad2, iPad retina, iPhone 4S (2), iPod Touch. Most likely getting an iPad mini and updated AExt later in the summer.

I think the new AirPort Extreme will be making its debut in the Novak Chateau before the end of summer.

Just the fact that the WiiU plays all Wii games makes it not a fail for someone with a preteen boy that does not need to be playing games about killing people or other humanoids.
