What Are You Building Today
Interesting, thanks. I should keep up with diya more often. I can't tell if the intention for all those holes is via stitching or via shielding... doesn't really look like either at first glance. In any case, pretty sure LT isn't going to like that their trademark of Silent Switcher is being infringed upon. Time to do some research and cook up something for myself.

Thanks for the offer, but the board I'm using needs to have very exact dimensions so it doesn't look like I'd be able to use your board anyway. Mine is also regulated with a tl1963 on the backside. Might look into switchers as well.

Cool, do you have a list of which ones fit the board? Looked at the Talema units but Digikey doesn't have the one I want in stock :/ went with a Triad. I assume it works well with no noise or EMI issues?

The Multi Amp aka Dynalo Mk2
Oops, missed the part about measuring after an hour. Kerry and I confirmed in person that ours measure around the same temperature (both with heatsinks). Mine is run at 18V and biased correspondingly hotter from higher voltage LEDs, though. I used my multimeter with thermocouple adapter and measured right at the bottom of the fins.

The Multi Amp aka Dynalo Mk2
Did you set the bias lower than stock, and are you measuring like 30 minutes in? I think most people including mine are around 70-75 with heatsinks mine would definitely go into nuclear melt down mode after being on awhile. I just sort of made a video for soldering the QFN chips for people here but ended up channeling some kind of cross between tangent and Patrick82 way too much while learning how impossible it is to solder with one hand and record with the other, so need to at least edit out the weirdest parts before posting (or remake the vid entirely). What's the best free video editing software?

What are peoples' thoughts on PCB mount transformers? Pros/cons/pitfalls? I thought it'd be nice to not have to bolt/mount a bunch of toroids (or any, if at all possible) to a case. Yes, the silkscreen flying off the edge means the transformer is slightly wider than the PCB, but I had specific size requirements for this board.

2018 PCB Group Buy with TKD pots
In that case, maybe they are still operational? All I know is I can't find a website and SH is a dead end, did not actually try emailing sellmark. pcx seems to sell 2 channel TKDs, maybe they can order some 4 gangs?

2018 PCB Group Buy with TKD pots
Probably not much interest to most here, but can you ask the distributor if they have motorized versions of the 600/2500? Or just let me know what US distributor you are using. The distributors on the TKD website seem long out of date. They have Song Huei listed as a Taiwan distributor, so I emailed them and they said they don't sell TKDs. Sellmark is listed in the US and it doesn't even seem like it's operating anymore.

(closed) Dynalo Mini enclosure group buy
Anyone know if either the TKD or Alpha/Song Huei pots come in motorized versions?

Yes that is the one I was looking at getting, have you tried it with any non Molex connectors and does it crimp both wings at the same time or one at a time? If both, can you measure the exact width? I was thinking of CNCing my own die but realized it may not be as simple as I first thought. In other news, I just got off the phone with a service rep at arrow who had a quaint Southern drawl and I accidentally switched to my approximation of one halfway through the convo.

The Headcase Stax thread
There's no doubt Stax know HF exists. Some HF members even did a factory tour. When's the HC factory tour?

Damn that hurts. The hirose tool I would need probably wouldn't show up for years and certainly wouldn't be anywhere close to 100 some molex ones I saw on eBay were still like 300. I am looking into service grade

Part Sourcing Assistance/Advice Thread
As usual I went down the rabbit hole of reading about all the different models and ended up more confused than I started about what will work with which connectors... I ended up buying a different one. Let's compare sometime!

Big fan of 3d space optimization for amps. Haven't managed to implement it yet but this is giving me inspiration Do you have a link to the case you used? What do those four mounting holes on the faceplate do since it looks like the plate is actually held in by those corner post block things?

Thank you, good sir! Will try it out

How do people crimp pins for connectors? Do you actually buy the $500-1500 corresponding crimp tool or make do with something else?

@Laowei wow someone measured a few times before putting everything into the chassis Nice Finally about to finish up a solenoid driver board to send out. Was gonna make it smaller but got too lazy

Beethoven Kempe Symphonies
Did you ever end up finding a copy? Lots of article on Beethoven's crazy tempo markings, apparently one theory is that his metronome was broken (with some differential equations!): www.ams.org/notices/201309/rnoti-p1146.pdf Does that mean Schnabel's dogged adherence to the marked tempi was all in vain? https://www.sim.spk-berlin.de/en/_5_Autograph_Tempo_in_Beethoven’s “Hammerklavier_Sonata”_1321.html

goldenreference low voltage power supply
I used the 4040 on one of my GRLVs so I didn't have to put in a separate order for the LT1021. It works but is noisier than the LT1021, not sure if it's audible though

goldenreference low voltage power supply
Ah yeah forgot about that, it's in the very first paragraph of the datasheet that the 5V version only works in series mode. The TPS7 regulators that are used in the amb modules and Dynalo mini are rated to 1A and are LDO
