Unknown at this point. My guess is the $29 disc will allow you to do a clean install, but only after verifying you have 10.5 on your machine. -
Try putting the phone into DFU mode and see if iTunes will recognize it then. Connect it to the computer and open iTunes. Press and hold the home and sleep button together for 10-15 seconds.
