Magic looking speakers! And I love all the tube boxes scattered about. A tweaker lives here.

Ta Beefy. Looks like I can get a Squeezebox and a NAD325BEE for under my limit if I scrounge around, so I think I'm going to do that.
-
Remote would be a definite plus. Let's say $500 max. Wonder if a stereo receiver might be a better bet? Built-in tuner would be nice given the application, but on the other hand I could just use my iPhone and Simplify or Pandora.

I have a couple of bookshelf speakers and a small active sub I'm no longer using in my TV system and I'd like to move them to the living room, which is currently wired with Blose courtesy of the house's previous owner. Anyway, I'm thinking a 50W integrated amp would do the trick (speakers are 8 ohm and 88dB sensitive) and I'd like to be cheap -- as it'd just be for occasional ambience or the kids and the main source will probably be an iPod. Do need a sub out. NAD? Cambridge? Arcam? Fire away. Used is fine.

Several cases of various Oktoberfests -- Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr, Spaten. I do love my Marzen.

Those are pretty darn good for the iPhone cam!

:D:D He doesn't sound like one of the "delicate things" decribed by this academic dunce. Perhaps he has low self-esteem?

Pfft. Show me a Swarovski D-Sub and then we're blinging.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uz6amk3P-hY Really? This is what $10 million buys you? The old mugshot is a nice touch. But again, really?

Cambridge Audio DacMagic -- $400, balanced.

The previous version used AD712s, apparently. -
12-ft shielded ICs to run from the pre on the shelf to the powered monitors on the desk. The builder even took the time to designate the ground end of the shield. Does ALO do that? I think not. SuckItALO!

I reckon they probably did. Whatever you think about CA in general, they do a good job of picking their spots in the market and I suspect they wouldn't have bothered with balanced output unless they were seriously looking to take some customers away from Benchmark et al. -
Ran 30 minutes. Took a cold shower. Going to get my head buzzed. Feeling ascetic.

Here's the black version in "gamer" config. -
Silly name, but it certainly looks the part and the price is nice. Who's first? Press fluff follows.

Found it somewhere else. Should have known. Thanks for the pat on the butt, coach.

Here's a nice loopy animation for you, Nate.

Ridiculously good or ridiculously bad? I'm on a Mac so I have no idea as yet. Re point 1: -
Took the standard Cooper test again and was pleased to find it now pegs my physical fitness level at comfortably above the 50th percentile for my age group. When I started dragging my fat ass to the gym in April, it was around the 20th percentile -- so that's something. Pizza for everybody!

That page makes me wish I had a whole lot more money. Doesn't Boomana have a pair of those?
