New MBP to triple-interface external HD via Oxford bridge. Suggests that lack of FW400 isn't a massive performance issue for the standard MB, although it's still a pisser from a peripherals point-of-view.
Went to a corporate children's party. Several dozen whipped- and worried-looking hedge fund guys, their (generally) hot and (regrettably) snotty wives and at least a hundred tow-headed brats all cooped up in a hotel ballroom with a troupe of acrobats and the scariest clowns in the known universe. And no booze. Kill me.

Actually the initial slam on the Little Dot was my fault. I had the dip switches set for high-impedance phones. Much better now, though it still does a better job generally with the Senns. Bass is a little floppy with the HF-1s.
Sorry to interrupt the firepower debate, but I got a pair of HF-1s in the mail today and I'm quite chuffed with them so far.
Have been listening out of the Duet as the LD can't drive them for toffee. Hopefully my GS-1 will be here any day now to take care of that problem.
