And I should mention I detect no hint of irony among the sonic characteristics of my Apex. So I've been thinking (with a little help from some of the discussions here) of seeing what vinyl has to offer and it turns out I can get hold of this table for less than the replacement price of just the Virtuoso cartridge it comes with. Financial considerations aside, though, would this be a decent place to plant a flag? I believe it's an upgraded and rebadged Clearaudio Emotion table and it comes with their Satisfy tonearm and aforementioned MM cartridge. Michael Fremer and Robert Greene both gave it good write-ups a few years back, for what that's worth.

SED is vaporware. It was supposed to go into production almost 10 years ago and so far there is not a single mass-market display using the technology. I think Toshiba made a few panels for broadcast use, but that's it. I'm still bitter that the market wasn't there for SXRD rear-projection. I have the last set Sony made before pulling the plug on that segment, and it's an absolute gem. I'll cry tears of blood when it dies and I have to replace it with a flat panel.
