The artist is in SF. You should totally buy it!
  3. I can think of a few sites offering nothing but rather specific images that nonetheless appear to generate quite a substantial revenue stream. And I should mention I detect no hint of irony among the sonic characteristics of my Apex. Perhaps the merest touch of sarcasm in the upper registers, though a less-discerning ear would likely simply take this to be ever-so-slightly tipped-up treble response.
  4. Touch too, but it doesn't get Street View for some reason. Probably going to make you iPod peons pay for it.
  5. Yay, cut and paste! Awwww.
  6. Give me two quick cups of coffee and five free minutes in the morning and I don't need no stinking enema!
  7. New fronts for TV room system.
  8. What the fuck are you talking about? I am old. The end.

She makes my skin want to crawl off my body and emigrate to 1953.
  10. MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. Welcome home! Thank you.
  13. Hearetics?
  14. So I've been thinking (with a little help from some of the discussions here) of seeing what vinyl has to offer and it turns out I can get hold of this table for less than the replacement price of just the Virtuoso cartridge it comes with. Financial considerations aside, though, would this be a decent place to plant a flag? I believe it's an upgraded and rebadged Clearaudio Emotion table and it comes with their Satisfy tonearm and aforementioned MM cartridge. Michael Fremer and Robert Greene both gave it good write-ups a few years back, for what that's worth.

    OK, who commissioned this? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRB3bjRPseI]YouTube - Robert Burden's Voltron[/ame]
  16. Screw it. Ordered.
  17. Argh! I'm also hard-pressed to resist half off. How do they sound straight out of a iPod?
  18. Yeah, it's better than their main Web front end I think.
  19. Than your god damned heart, sirra.
  20. There's also going to be a 73" option. God knows what that'll cost.
  21. SED is vaporware. It was supposed to go into production almost 10 years ago and so far there is not a single mass-market display using the technology. I think Toshiba made a few panels for broadcast use, but that's it. I'm still bitter that the market wasn't there for SXRD rear-projection. I have the last set Sony made before pulling the plug on that segment, and it's an absolute gem. I'll cry tears of blood when it dies and I have to replace it with a flat panel.

  23. Your wish, the universe's command! Look out belowwwwwww!
  24. If money is no object and you do most your viewing in an appropriately dark room, the Pioneer Elite Kuros are pretty much by common consensus the best displays you can buy, period. However, for roughly half the price you can get pretty close with a top LCD set, like the step-up Samsung A950, or a Panasonic PZ800U plasma. Honestly, though, unless you are really, really picky you'll probably be very happy with the set you linked. As far as prices go, I don't see them heading any way but South in this economy. The longer you can wait, the cheaper you will be able to get just about anything in the CE universe. My gut feeling is the floodgates will really open after the retailers take stock of how miserable their Christmas season actually was. In a sink-or-swim situation, excess inventory is two boots full of water. They'll be pretty much throwing flat panels out the front door, I reckon.
