  6. Happy birthday sirs.
  7. I think you should stick with something simple and easy like, "you suck."
  8. larry, interview started at 8:45 as people were walking in late...med school interview and being 15 minutes late couldn't possibly be a good mix but oh well, better chances for me. they just did general introductions and laid out the day for all 25 of us. we were divided into 5 groups and then they had a short presentation about the curriculum and how they are different from all other medical schools. they did ~15 minute 2 (faculty members) on 1 interviews. mine lasted close to 30 minutes - don't know if thats a good thing or a bad one but everyone outside was wondering wtf happened. i was asked why and how i changed from math to medicine and how my experiences had shaped the decision. i had mentioned that i was born and raised in india so they asked me to compare and contrast the health care systems of the two countries. they asked me to tell them in a lot of detail what my average weekly schedule was like and what my opinions were on the current health care system. given the opportunity what I would fix about it and last, they asked me to explain the absurdly low biology mcat section score. they took students around to tour the facilities by groups as each group then went in for a group interview. we were asked to sit around a table and were given several questions where we were to come up with answers. mostly ethical stuff like 3 people you love on a sinking boat. you can save 2 so who do you save. do you treat a neighbors kid even if the parent cant afford to pay you? what happens if he makes it a habit of it. how do you handle that? what would you do if you see your mentor make a mistake during surgery - do you report him and potentially lose a residency spot or do you keep quiet? the group aspect went on for a lot longer. we went for lunch with the dean and then came home. were told before leaving that we would have a decision on the 21st.
  9. i dont even know... another wtf japan. i think. http://www.eblogx.com/Videos/23166/Dance-like-a-Butterfly/

  12. First med school interview tomorrow. WHY CAN'T I FALL ASLEEP??? Hopefully the lucky streak will continue until 4pm tomorrow. John/Larry/other docs, did you med school interviews last all day long? 8am - 4:30pm?
  13. Wayne that's what the grease is for.
  14. fuck fuck fuck. I was hoping you would end my misery steve
  15. John, Steve has first dibs on that. Only thing holding me back is a worthy preamp as the amp itself eats up the entire budget.
  16. No bikes. Need speaker amp.
  17. Just got a $3000 scholarship that I applied for 8 months ago for the semester that is almost over. Not complaining. Just thought it was funny they notify me of it now. The nice days continue.
  18. Fantastic Marc! What are the black boxes in the back/side of the horns? I thought horns like that needed to be exactly in a corner with no gaps.
  19. Got interview invite for med school #2. Someone somewhere seems to like me temporarily.
  20. I did. And I shat bricks.
  21. What the hell was in tylls video?
  22. Today has just been a good day. Dad got picked up by his boss from an evacuation shelter. He is well rested and back to normal. Julie got a bonus and promotion at work for being an awesome kickass girl. I got an interview invite from miller school of medicine. It is only an interview but still very surprising and good news. Had an absurdly tender dry aged ny strip for the first time. Grilled it at home. I have never been able to season meat correctly - either it is too much or too little. This just turned out to be the right amount. The outside was seared to perfection. The insides were warm and pink but not bloody. Very soft and tender. Finally got to my room and saw a FedEx ground box from Jh Audio. For my jh16s back and they were cleaned and the socket in the right earpiece was replaced. Took them almost three weeks to get them back to me but they didn't charge me the 25 bucks they said they would. I didn't mind paying for the service but I was just getting tired of being told that someone in the lab was working on them as we spoke and that they were going to get shipped out that day (on multiple days). Expediency aside, they fixed it to my satisfaction, cleaned it when they didn't need to and put a big smile on my face at the end of a good day. I can't complain. Nothing comes close to them so ill take the 3 week repair time. Jh audio and the crew get a fuck yeah from me. Today has been a good day.
  23. My first ever dry aged ny strip to celebrate the first med school interview invite this year. Wanted to celebrate tonight. Bought it very enthusiastically and came home to a mother who threw a shit fit about me eating steak (she is a devout Hindu). Kept yelling while I cooked it but I ignored her. Today was a good day. Not letting her vegetarian gods steal my thunder.
  24. Thanks for the kind wishes guys. Dads boss drove down from Connecticut sometime early this morning and picked him up and took him to his home. He is just dehydrated but other than that fine. He has a boatload of homemade Indian desserts heading his way by way of mum. When he called he said please don't go overboard trying to thank me as she was a little overwhelmed but finally said oh I wouldn't mind having some (insert dessert here) if you get a chance. She has been going nuts since 5 making all this stuff. Anyhow glad he is in safe hands. He shall be home for their wedding anniversary in a few days as planned.
