dusty, im still up overall roughly $12k since i started. i stopped playing the big 7-15 games a long time ago. didnt have the stomach for the swings. walk away with 6k one night and lose 9k the next. now just play 1-2 for fun. hell the poker games paid for my honda civic (which was then given to my mom :facepalm: ) but i am sure i have a gambling problem. but i did call 1800admitit. wonder if their blocks really do anything.

my issue with them doesnt even come close to that kids but it does show a marked lack of caring on their part even for the small things. i was told a cleaning tool would be sent with the jh16s i ordered a while back. didnt get one. sent them an email about it and they said i could purchase it. it was just 3 bucks so i didnt make a stink about it. ordered it about a month ago and still havent received it. sent two emails so far with no reply. will try the phone once the holidays are over. that fucking blows (re. the hf kid).

now i am really done with poker. i was up ~$335 on a 1-2 which is pretty damn good for an hours worth of playtime. i get KQ (spades) guy bets $12. i call. flop comes K (club), Q(club), 2(spade) guy bets $30. i raise to $60. he goes all in. i think, i call. turn comes 4(spade) river comes 8(spade) i have king high flush. he wins the pot with A3(spades). what the fuck he was doing in that hand i have no fucking clue. times like these i hate trust fund babies who can just blow money out of their ass and not get affected by the outcomes. currently eating 5 guys comfort burger.

it was my second ever build. i just wanted it to work. no time was spent trying to keep it clean. i doubt i could have done any better even if i tried. looks fantastic sir.

been playing with the ipad. the low ram is starting to bother me. even the iphone seems more responsive switching between apps etc. going to go with mba for certain. will the 1.4ghz be too slow? id hate to spend that much money and then be annoyed with the speed. going to go with 4gb ram for certain but dont know how the 1.4ghz processor compares with the faster processors.

ipad with a case is pretty damn heavy. was playing around with moms ipad for a few minutes this morning and held it with just my fingers (didnt have it resting on my forearm) and fingers were starting to get tired quickly. not a complaint -- just an observation. i plan on leaving my thinkpad in the office permanently for next semester but will be going to 3 different universities so would like something light to carry. pull trigger on another ipad or go with a macbook air?

the driver specs according to the manufacturer are here... Eminence - The Art and Science of Sound the driver only goes down to 100hz. fs of 97hz. it only goes up to 6khz but the tweeter is crossed over well before that i would assume. wonder how he gets anything lower than 150hz out of this thing -- cabinet doesnt look HUGE. i dont really trust manufacturer claims regarding the fr after getting burnt by fostex on a few occasions. i grow even more skeptical of his claims - "better than 30hz - 30khz frequency response." anyone care to explain how a driver that bottoms out at 100hz can go below 30hz? i really dont understand. is the cabinet doing something here?

Hate to thread crap but the guy was a complete douche to me a few people on Diya for no reason. Well the reason was budp and Dave asked him for his patent submissions and he got bitchy. I posted in fonken threads and he pm'd me saying I should check out his stuff which was much cheaper and better. When I asked him to build a fonken he asked for $500 more than what planet10 charged and he was using mdf Compared a pair of his speakers using the same drivers with a guy who wanted to buy the Fonkens. Fonkens were doing things with the bass the tekton stuff wouldn't even come close to. Try the speakers though. Who knows , you might like the sound. Also the site doesn't say what drivers are being used...do you happen to know? 98db seems awfully high for a 10" driver in addition to a crossover which should reduce the sensitivity.

Pimped out MacBook pro for dad. Now im officially fucking broke. It was a good semester, financially. Ate good food. Got cool toys. Sold said cool toys. Got moar cool toys. Got even moar cool toys for family and friends. Spent money when I wanted to without having to worry about it. Now I can't wait to have a job that hopefully pays a lot more heh.

i hope they dont do away with the 10" 2nd gen. dont really want a 7" tablet. feel like it would be too small.

i was using skype on the ipod touch back when i had it (4th gen). when i had wifi, i was using it as a phone as well. worked great.

Well the whole line between glass and aluminum thing is great and all but beyond the initial honeymoon period does one really care for such things after say 9 months? the build quality of IBM thinkpads was incomparable IMO. I still have mine from 6 years ago and after having gone down a flight of stairs 3 times and being dropped many more all that happened to it was a chip on the USB port side chassis. Upgraded ram but other than that nothing else was changed. That tp is thinner than my current one. I don't think any mainstream current production laptops can take that kind of accidental abuse with crapping out. Old thinkpad build quality + matte black chassis + apple interface would be my dream. Too bad it will never happen

I initially was rather opposed to the idea of anuthing apple but I must say the iPhone is starting to grow on me. The interface mostly. Hardware wise I don't care for the phone one way or the other. But after playing around with a MacBook air and the iPad I am starting to like their products more. Am I going to give up my thinkpad for a Mac? No. The trade off between money spent on hardware and money spent on a spiffy interface is too high. Now if apple reduced prices or offered better hardware for the same price...
