A belated happy brithday, Dom!

Stupid Verizon makes it very difficult (from my research) to root. Thankfully after a reboot the camera will now go silent if I have my phone on vibrate/mute.

I love that your training wheels cost more than my entire bike.

Dynamic amp? / 2nd to main Stax rig / small / $300-$600ish?

It's one of the earliest prototypes and I don't have many good interior shots but I'll post up a few shots later. -
Heh. There's nothing more annoying that the stupid "shutter" sound of a cell phone camera in just about any situation but there are lots of non-creepy situations where I'd like to discretely take a picture. It always used to be off when my phone was on vibrate, where it spend 99% of it's life, and now even with system sounds muted it still makes the dumb noise.

Verizon updated my GS3 last week and now I can't shut off the camera shutter sound. WTF?

Shelly, if you want me to mod the torpedo for you I will. -
I just religiously cook bacon in my cast iron skillet and count that as the seasoning process.

The Garmin temp sensor is not great, i.e. I've done rides where it was off by 5 to 10 degrees but it's generally "close enough". The trucks were out sanding in force again today so the roads are off limits for me for a while again. sigh

Nice, Jacob. Here's to no ome slips, trips or falls. We got about 6" of very heavy, wet snow yesterday and it's snowing lightly again now. It looks pretty but I'm guessing it'll be a good sized pain in my ass later today.

Damn that's hot!

I think the only thing that is wood is the face plate and knobs. The bodies are still aluminum, IIRC. -
Well done, Jacob! And I'm with Marc and Haj on the SSD. If I wasn't so lazy I'd be running one in my lappy.

My vote is the waranteed Madfibers, Chris. If the Paceline pair had any issue you'd be out a grand. Sure the pair from your shop costs more but you're covered for the next year.

Goal #1 - get the Calfee fitting right. Doing two long rides on it at the end of the year in extremely cold temps was a bad combo and seems to have truly tweaked my left hamstring. I am slightly concerned that I won't be able to find a happy riding position on it. That would be heart breaking. Mileage Road - 2,000 - same as last year, since I don't really have any more time to ride and I missed the goal by 15 fricken miles. MTB - given how little I got out this year the goal for 2014 will simply be to get out more. I think I might have made it out 6 times which is about half what I'd hoped. The fall season just disappeared... Specific Rides - this will really depend on whether or not I sell the Roubaix and buy some sort of gravel/cross bike. My older brother and I have talked about doing some sort of epic dirt/road ride mid-summer but I'm not doing that on the Calfee or Roubaix. I think ideally I'd like a steel or Al framed bike that isn't so nice that I can't ride it around the neighborhood with the kids. Lily really started to like riding her bike at the end of the year and I'm looking forward to getting out on a few short rides with her. After that I'll definitely be doing the 3-notch ride again. I wouldn't mind tossing in another century earlier in the year and Team Big Guy is talking about trying to do the B2B ride (http://b2vtride.com/) and that decision will have to be made next week. I'm not sure I'm up for thinking about that epic a ride that early in the year. Once during the summer I want to ride to work all 5 days of the week. Just to say that I did. With the new position at work it'll probably be hard to do it twice. We'll see. Fitness - simply put, end the year more fit than I started. I think I succeeded in that effort this year but I can feel it already slipping as there is no real way to replace the amount of time that I spend on the bike with other ways of working out without significantly impacting other areas of life. But, I need to work on that and not simply give up until the weather breaks and I can hit the road again.

Let me know what you're seeing under $1000, last time I looked anything that looked decent was more like $2k unless you built a lot of it yourself. I still can't get over the hurdle of needing software and a computer to run the thing. What I'd really like is a small CNC unit with a simple numeric control unit attached that allowed for manual, but precise operation. I'm sure I could get that, it'd just cost $5k.
