RIP Gene. A simple memory, but when I was 8 or 9 my sister and I put on Willy Wonka while helping my dad unload Christmas decorations from the shed. It was pretty early to do so, before Thanksgiving even, but still cold and dreary outside. So every time I brought a load into the house, I sat down for 5 minutes to check in on the movie... and I remember feeling so utterly comfortable, warm, and safe. And I think about that every time I've seen that movie since. So thanks to Gene for playing a part in that. Also Blazing Saddles is the funniest film I have ever seen. Another favorite in my family.

Signatory had a large(r) run of sherried Blair Athol casks offered up as various store/retailer selections the last 12-16 months. The Whiskey Exchange has one, K&L had at least two, etc. I think they're at the end of that run now so anyone interested will want to move quickly... It occurred to me I haven't posted any tasting notes in a while. I'll correct that once we've moved and I open new things.
