  1. Happy Birthday. In any case, I bet some flaming electronics could be fun to sing happy birthday to.
  2. Natalie Portman's Shaved Head.... A truly limiting band name and doesn't get much positive press. I once requested them on the college radio before being hung up on as a prank caller. I really like confections off of "glistening pleasure". Oh ya, and daft punk.
  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. About a year and a half ago, I tried to power the 600ohm K240 with a Corda Move. It sounded really weak and badly amplified, I was reasonably embarrassed. LISA III did worlds better next time I tried, but do yourself a favor and don't go portable with 600ohm full sized headphones. On a side note, have noticed several movies and shows on TV that show these headphones whenever someone is in the recording studio. I know they have been professional monitoring headphones for decades, but I would not be surprised to see a spike in popularity currently.
  5. Happy Birthday!

I don't know how I feel about that, but I don't have a turntable. I could get a parasound table on ebay for the same price... but the phono stage and everything... huge investment. I still wonder whats this decidedly toy-like turntable worth?

  8. Siamese cyclops princess wishes you a happy anniversary of your birth.
  9. He's been infected with a brainslu.... shh!
  10. I think my first download was a band pretending to be a rare blink 182 song that I hadn't heard of. I was a huge blink 182 fan in 8th grade and still am a fan of their earlier stuff. Its nostalgic for me...

Salmon cannon balls sounds like a tasty meal. I now wish to see the video that is linked to beside the description....
  12. Beware the low input impedance.
  13. I purchased some damplifier here to damp a large 4u chassis for the balanced aikido with and possibly dampen my T50RP. http://www.secondskinaudio.com/vibration-mat/damplifier.php Checked out the foam factory also. http://www.thefoamfactory.com/
  14. Personally, I don't believe I could take more then three or four to the death. I think I'm a little intimidated after seeing Gran Turino.
  15. Thanks for the pic, I've been studying them to get ideas so far. Its been a lot easier after seeing some of the mods applied then only reading about them for me.
  16. Wouldn't it being solid and weighty (read:expensive) significantly help quality though? It sounds like a wooden box would make a decent turn table sound worse to me. I'm not a craftsman though.
  17. After reading the quoted passages, I inferred that the headphone housing (sort of like a "box") would determine the bass. Spend more time reading, I wouldn't want you to wear out a recently dusted asshat.
  18. I guess its not $69 or less, but at $77, I do not regret purchasing the T50RP. I'm only basing my preference on looks.
  19. I recieved my T50RP today and spent some quality time listening to them. I have some great contact cleaner, but I'm confused about the locking cord. I can twist to unlock the cord, but I thought it would be easily detachable once unlocked so that I could clean the contact there. Mine isn't so. EDIT: I took some pliers to it and got it. I know, if you have to force it, your probably not doing it right, but it had it coming.
  20. First snow to stick to the ground about to be here on the East coast. I can't complain, this area is crybaby about snow, everything closes down at the hint. I get a day off of work tomorrow and know how to drive my 4x4 around, so I'm pretty psyched.
  21. My labs had lockers to keep projects in, but was a large engineering school. Sure I don't have to say this, but whoever complained is a little bitch BTW. I hate that.
  22. Thanks, its been ordered.
  23. DEW ET! I don't think you would have much trouble. The Buffalo module is a snap, its only two leds and four standoffs, it doesn't get any easier. The power supply modules are also super easy to follow and as long as you work your way up populating the board by the height of each component, should also not be very intimidating. Their are two little SMD choke/inductors on each of those, but they are super easy if you just tin them and the pads and then heat the pads while you hold them down in place with tweezers (easier then it sounds even). The only challenge you might have would be the IVY which has much more components to populate the module with, but I would suggest you try it. If your too scared, you could also spend the money you would have spent on someone else doing it for you on a pre-assembled Zapfilter from parts connexion and not buy the second transformer, LCBPS, or IVY for a little over $100 more then you would have spent on those. Overall, I think you can do it, the casework is going to be by far the hardest task there. Get yourself some nice pre-drilled front and back panels from Front Panel Express with the money you save if you don't want to drill yourself. Just brush up on the tangent tutorials.
  24. Anyone believe they have found a trusted online store to get the newer version of the Fostex yet?
  25. I got the pair from John (heels-6) on eBay. Pretty nice cables, shipping was super fast.
