  1. Allan Holdsworth owned one of the hand made by my teacher guitars. He seemed to like a lot small body ones with funny shapes, and great sounding. I've listened to a couple of albums on YT, is the whole collection worth it?
  2. Happy Birthday!!!
  3. Condolences to you and your family, Kerry.
  4. Larry Carlton Quartet full concert at the Festival de Jazz de Vitoria, performed on July 12th this year
  5. Cool. You should upload some video at YT
  6. What Clapton's repertoire were you playing?
  7. Who needs preferences? I like both
  8. This casual improvisation really made my day, a friend sent me the link on a morning e-mail
  9. Happy Birthday!!!
  10. TBH I'm not sure either, I think I paid a low fee for the pro subscription, so I was for a while ads free, but it's possible I just got some grace period then I should pay to be pro and fully ads free forever. As you said, this is ramsonware and sooner or later, we'll have to pay again.
  11. OMG, yes. Unstoppable diarrhea
  12. I think I already paid them a couple of bucks some time ago to get rid of ads and other shit, yet now they're back. It's possible I'm wrong and that all I did was getting profit of an offer of "free pro features" I want my memory back.
  13. Peter Bernstein - Signs Live! With Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride and Gregory Hutchinson Available on Spotify, recently released
  14. I'm learning some harmony and music theory with a jazz guitarist, so also trying to make the damn thing sound. Insight about "how music works" gives a completely different focus, but I'm still far away from being as aware as you on those performance features. I like Richter, but also Annie Fischer or Elly Ney playing Beethoven sonatas. I don't like Lang Lang either
  15. Thanks. I'm not an experienced musician, just a rookie wannabe, so for me it's not that easy guessing the kind of person playing and the kind of development it took to get that performance. I've been able to perceive and enjoy the Michelangeli's perfectionism and intellectual approach, the rigor or perhaps sort of "emotional sterility" on Pollini, the unique vision of Gould... but I've not been able to "get" what's behind Arrau's performances. Not that I've listened to everything he recorded, and never got to watch him live. I'm now listening to the first CD on the set that Jacob recommended. I think this is not the Arrau I've listened to in other performances
  16. Happy Birthday, Todd!!
  17. Would you please elaborate?
  18. Happy Birthday!!!
  19. I'll have to check that. For some reason I can't guess, I don't particularly enjoy his playing either.
  20. I don't know Szidon. How do you like Arrau?
  21. An argentinian pianist who a friend recommended. Pretty good, I must say.
  22. ¡Gracias amigos! Thank you very much. I had a great day. First step in the right direction was getting a couple of days off work so no early bird wake up, no duties and less worries. There were candles, cumpleaños feliz singing, good wines and tasty malt spirits, well wishes and good company. It's kind of fun how year after year the meaning of these dates keeps changing. Today there are more celebrations scheduled, and tomorrow too. Kind of birthday marathon
  23. So many reasons for awesomeness
  24. That's why I haven't tried one... besides economical reasons
  25. Oh, I didn't mean you should back out, just telling my thoughts. To be honest I haven't tried any of those two beauties on my wrist (yet), I might well be sold on the automatic too. The manual on a black strap is the paradigm of what a dress watch should be.
