Since patience with things not working isn't one of my strong suits, I've put in place the old battery, but it still won't restore to factory defaults or update. Any secret code to force this damn thing to restore?

I've just replaced my old Iphone 5 battery because the original one was below 65% capacity. I purchased it from iFixit, which is supposed to be good quality, they have an EU store. The replacement process went pretty much forward and flawlessly until I switched the iPhone on. It wouldn't light up. I thought the battery could be empty, so I plugged it into the charger, then the "connect into iTunes" logo appeared: I plugged the iPhone into the MBP, started iTunes, it asked if I wanted to restore factory default or update. I chose update the first time. The thing is now giving some error and won't either update nor restore to factory default. I've repeated the sequence a few times, but it won't work. I know the battery is working because after unplugging the iPhone from the computer it holds the screen light with the "plug into iTunes" logo on, but once it disappears, the iPhone isn't responding to any buttons combination I push. It only reactivates when I plug it into the charger or the laptop, and just shows the USB>iTunes logo. I've checked Apple's site for support, I'm on El Capitan (10.11.16 OSX) which is a later version than the minimum that could be required, and my iTunes software is the last version, no updates available. I don't get any error code number, iTunes just says that there's some problem and that the iPhone needs either updating or to be restored. Any suggestions of what to try before reopening and putting back the old battery? Do you think using this software http://www.transfer-iphone-recovery.com/iphone-stuck-in-recovery-mode.html could be safe and useful? I don't have references and I'm afraid it could be some sort of spy software, besides I'm not sure I'd have to pay at some point.

He said he would like to win the Triple Crown, which only Graham Hill won, consisting of the F1 Championship, the Le Mans 24 Hours and Indianapolis 500 miles. Definitely something he should be able to do, and probably an incentive now that McLaren's car isn't competitive. I'll miss him at Monaco, it's one of the few races where the car isn't more important than the pilot.

Thanks Birgir, that's what I thought. The user of that energizer is experiencing distortion at mid to high listening levels that I don't think is normal. He's most likely experiencing the distortion from the headphones output of his amplifiers.

Did Stax ever release a SRD-6 with a TRS plug to be used from a headphones output, or is this just a "custom operation" by some ignorant moron?

I guess he was aware that the US and UK aren't going to fight the global warming anymore, so most likely weather will be BBQ friendly in the UK in no time.

I didn't try the olive foam mod, but being that the first approach to a DIY resonator, it's rather likely that the SDR takes it a step further. I'm not keeping them all the time into their box, but the places where I hang or drop them aren't much exposed to daylight, not in the dark either, but far from brightly illuminated, so forget about direct sunlight. They started to feel tacky like one year ago, perhaps a bit more, but the shedding is a new development. Not bad for six or seven years old earpads, I was an early HD800 adopter. The headpad is a bit sticky, but not shedding yet.

I got the SDR from Sorrodje, just a bit more expensive than the Ebay's, that arrived yesterday. My HD800 had my personal (read as in "what I have around") felt-foam-adhesive mod, which had been in place for about 5 years, since Tyll published the video on Youtube. It controlled pretty well the harshness in the treble, which I didn't find annoying but with some recordings, although at the price of some bass quality, not as much the depth as its "texture" and slam. I happen to be more sensitive to peaks at 7-8KHz than at 5-6, so I didn't have much trouble listening to the HD800 on stock form. I wasn't as much aware of the issues in the bass with the former mod until I performed some (not blind) listening tests yesterday comparing my mod to the stock and the SDR. Definitely the SDR is well worth a try by anyone wanting to tame a bit the HD800's treble without much sacrifice of anything else. TBH they sound more interesting now, not sure if for being less fatiguing or just righter, getting less in the way of the music. BTW the damn HD800 earpads are delivering a lot of black powder reminiscing of the one the Grado pads dust when self-destroying. Still not changing them at 78€/pair

It's nice to see, for a difference, that Mercedes now must take care of tactics

Sure, I get it, that's why I said "kind of" paradoxical. As I understand it, considering my very low knowledge, you want your electrostatic field to be perfectly controlled in intensity, to be the same on both drivers, and to be kept within the strict size of the material. An isolating layer can be very helpful to achieve that. Is the problem in the 009 losing its balance between channels related to this?
-
Thanks! It's kind of paradoxical using an anti-static cleaner to coat electrostatic drivers.

What did you use for the recoat?

I only have the iPhone and rather shitty light, but hopefully the fine polishing can be appreciated Did I ever post this pic when Jacob asked for it at some other thread? This forum software is kind of weird. I like what Omega is releasing, the 60th anniversary issue of the Speedmaster, Trainmaster and Seamaster looks great too

what's wrong with this thread?

From what I read elsewhere, the headphones could have been of the headband type, perhaps noise cancelling like Bose QuietComfort, using larger rechargeable batteries of the AA or AAA type. I've used this type of batteries of Chinese make and are very very poor quality, nothing to do with the quality of the OEM batteries being used in Apple and other reputed brands products. The fault wasn't on the headphones and their brand, but on the batteries.
