Great job CJ! It's nice to have choices. BTW, I'm curious, how do you feel about getting an M.D. vs a D.O degree? The number of D.O. graduates is increasing these days, but they still only make up about 7% of graduates. My family doctor is a D.O. one of the docs that was in my pediatric residency program at Baylor College of Medicine was a D.O., but otherwise I don't know many osteopaths. Interestingly, my wife got her Masters Degree at A.T. Still University for Occupational Therapy in 2010, and AT Still was the founder of osteopathic medicine.

My iPad mini has been stuck in Tennessee since 2PM Sunday for "clearance delay". On the 15th the Apple website said I was supposed to get it tomorrow, now it shows Wednesday. Spoke to someone at Apple and they say the clearance delay "is routine" but normally doesn't show up when checking tracking, and I should have it on time. I told them "on time" was tomorrow. They refunded me my $6 for the 2-3 day shipping, and so now it's not their problem anymore and they wont call FedEX to find out why the tracking shows that FedEx is "waiting for instructions from importer".

I got the City Maps 2 Go yesterday, and downloaded a MAP of colorado springs, and several neighborhoods that were built prior to 2004 are not there. The map must be at least 8 years old.

Caught a cold

I thought about this for a while, and I recall that without airfoil video player my initial problem was playing quicktime video on my computer with the sound configured to be coming out of the apple TV so as to play through my stereo. Then the sound was late and out of sync with the MBP screen. Airfoil video player fixed it so that the video on my screen via quicktime player and the audio from my ATV > stereo was sync'd up. I tested this just now, and this is still the case. While trying to watch a Louis CK video via quicktime on the MBP just now, the video is on the MBP screen and it will have delayed audio through the ATV unless I use Airfoil Video Player. Then the video on MBP and audio on the stereo via ATV is in sync. If I send video from iTunes to Apple TV, then the video only shows on the ATV and there is no lag in the audio. If I use airplay mirroring to send youtube to the apple TV the video and sound are sync'd together okay on the TV, but both are behind the video on the rMBP screen. Not a problem if I'm only looking at the TV and not the MBP screen. Interestingly the longer the youtube video plays with airplay mirroring the less the lag becomes.

I just checked and I have a few albums by Pete - Air, Ozoona and Dreamfish 2. That's sad to lose someone so young (my age), and he was a good artist too.

Yikes, that sounds like a sucky day. In our case we took our wonderful sheltie to the vet for a dental cleaning under anesthesia and they found a cavity, a broken tooth, and an area of possible osteomyelitis or tumor on xray that's unrelated to the two teeth and needed to be biopsied. On top of that, she has a growing mass in her left rear leg for the past 4 years that was once thought to be hypertrophied muscle, but may be a lipoma or something more vascular that would be dangerous to biopsy. It's getting so much bigger that it's painful sometimes, and the vet thinks it may continue to grow until the leg might need to come off. The X-rays are being sent to a specialist, and she might need an ultrasound. Snickers is 12 years old and otherwise in good health, but I'm frustrated that after close to a kilo-buck in expenses for medical care that we still don't know her diagnosis or prognosis for these two issues. I always said we wouldn't be one of those families that spend thousands and thousands of dollars to save a pet who has lived a good life, but we love her so much that probably over the next couple of months I'll end up doing just that, just in small increments that sneak up on us.

Exactly, Airfoil video player is what you need. I own it and tried it, and it did get the audio to sync up when transmitting video from Macbook to the new Apple TV when using the HDMI DAC built into my HDTV. I assume it would do the same when using the optical digital output as well.
