  1. If you change your mind I might have room for you to stay, especially if Blutarsky cancels. He's got to fly in from Wash DC too.
  2. Google is my friend - https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/client/en_GB/ This says 5 unlocks per account "per year" if account is good standing, or 5 unlocks per account total if the account is no longer active and no ETF or balance is due. So the answer was both.
  3. Why would autocorrect add an apostrophe to "edits" in my post above? Anyways... is the AT&T "5 unlocks limit" set at 5 a year, or 5 in a lifetime? I sold a friend a jailbroken 3GS with software unlock a few months ago, and her kid recently updated the phone and killed the unlock so she can't use it on T-mobile anymore. I've been given conflicting info about this from people at AT&T store, and if it's 5 a year then I'll see if I can get the phone unlocked on my side. Otherwise, if it's lifetime then I've already used up 2 unlocks since May and don't want to use up more unless it's for my own phone. I've also read that people without an AT&T account can call AT&T and have them look up to see that the phone is out of contract, and then get it unlocked without being a customer. Is that true? Nobody who should know seems to know for sure.
  4. My post came in 1 minute before yours, and my three edit's at 1,3 and 6 minutes later to talk about modding the Lightning adapter doesn't invalidate that. That's my story and I'm sticking with it
  5. Wil Wheaton's Bacon number is 2 Wil Wheaton and Frances Lee McCain appeared in Stand by Me. Frances Lee McCain and Kevin Bacon appeared in Footloose.
  6. Yikes, I don't know anyone that likes going to the dentist for these things (except maybe Steve Martin, in Little Shop of Horrors). My wife and I both had two molars opposite of each other crack, a couple of years apart for each of us. They said it must have been something that happened with a glitch in the development of the teeth. We both got crowns as these cracks occurred, but both of mine cracked all the way down the root and had to be replaced with implants. Oh the horror!
  7. Wow, in just 1.5 hours the first batch of iPhone 5 is sold out, and the Apple store now says delivery in "two weeks" instead of 9/21.
  8. Yeah, that's what I was hoping, I saw tonight the Apple Store description is updated " This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Support for analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported." RWA is already tossing out rumors that they may try to mod these docks, which have a DAC in them. I really want to know what kind of DAC Apple is using to get analog out of the digital lightning port. And, is Lightning capable of doing USB 3.0 speeds? If not they dropped the ball there. BTW, it says "USB Audio" so, does that mean only Apple's version into a digital audio dock, or can we plug in a USB DAC like we can with iPad and CCK? And, I read another rumor that Apple will have HDMI and VGA adapters in the future for the Lightning port. PS: Ordered a pair of iPhone 5 right when sales started at 1:02AM - it went much smoother than any of the previous years.
  9. It would be nice if there were more options for portable digital docks than the CLAS (no amp) and HP-P1 (poor low volume control when I tried one).
  10. They must have one, because you just plug a 30-pin to USB cable in them and they pull digital from the iDevice. In these devices like HP-P1, CLAS and iDo we should be able to just plug in the new Lightning cable to phone and dock instead.
  11. Sooo, Justin we need you to make a Pico Slim with digital dock built-in, Please? Oh, on another note - I also am convinced that my LOD > Pico Slim has a bigger/deeper/wider soundstage and better bass extension than plugging my IEM directly into the iPhone headphone jack. I will have to compare the iPhone 4S LOD to the "headphone jack with a mini>mini" for feeding the amp. Is it possible that IF the headphone out and line-out are actually the same, that it's just that the iPhone can drive a high impedance amp load more linearly than it can a low impedance headphone? Could that be enough to account for the difference in sound quality, such that feeding the headphone out into the Pico Slim would actually be just as good as line-out into Slim?
  12. happy birthday!
  13. So, will our digital docks still work, with said adapter if the dock doesn't have a std USB jack? I know the Nuforce iDo, CLAS, and HP-P1 have a USB jack, so they shouldn't need an adapter, while the Wadia and Denon or iPure docks will.

  18. There's something wrong with your software installation.
  19. Great job, loved reading about it and living vicariously through you.
  20. I agree completely, the P-1u loaner from Todd pretty well mimics what I get with my upgraded ZDT with HD800.
  21. Hmm, don't pay the optional fire tax = screw you. How did the national news not pick up on this a couple of years ago, or was I in a coma?
  22. I think that you can only use one USB DAC at a time (if you have a Mac), so that means one cube if you use the built-in DAC. If you have two cubes and a special cable that plugs into the headphone jack and then into each cube separately you could use them as stereo cubes. And you can still power them from USB if you don't want to run down the internal batteries. I have one Nuforce cube and think it's one of the best "tiny" speaker I've tried (at least that's this small). It gave new life to our mid-2009 Macbook with crappy built-in speakers, and it's been okay for listening to music in the hotel room when traveling. But in no way is the single speaker audiophile quality. The headphone amp in it is not bad, at least beating the Nuforce Icon Mobile. I took the cube with me to North Carolina two weeks ago for a week long trip and it got the job done. Overall it wasn't working for me for watching movies and having the sound coming from the side of the screen, so I tried a variety of clips to mount it at the top center of the screen. I didn't like the look with the jury-rigged setup. Does it have to be USB audio? I ended up buying a bluetooth Zooka from Amazon just recently, and should be able to try the Zooka tomorrow. I'm hoping it will beat the Insignia USB, Logitech USB, and GOgroove SonaWAVE USB sound-bars that mount to the top of a LCD screen. With bluetooth I can use it with Macbook, iPhone, iPad and such, without being tied to USB. If you don't need to have a stereo speaker on each side of a computer monitor, you could consider a Jabra Big Jambox if you can get it on sale. I got one at the ATT store earlier this summer, on sale for $160, so we could play music from an phone or iPad in the kitchen. The sound is much better than the smaller Jambox, but it's not worth the $300 retail price. I know it's not optimal to place it behind the laptop screen where the sound is blocked, but for music it sounds pretty nice and isn't too hard to tote around.
  23. very cool.
