I saw some t-shirts by a company called Friend or Foe this weekend and bought one of the Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet shirts they had at the shop. I also saw one that Aardvark would cream over, but it ain't on the website: Check 'em out.

Nazis FTW! -
I don't really think that the post on HF is a hoax or an attention-getter or whatever, and the information is consistent with other comments made over time. Those Canuck Sennheiser people have been quoted before, iirc. Anyway, I think I posted this info before, but Rhythmdevils met some Sennheiser folks at AES and had this to say about it: "I was AES a couple weeks ago photographing for the daily that is produced for the event. There was a booth for Sennheiser, and Mr. Sennheiser was actually there! I didn't even know there was a mr. sennheiser. So I asked his assistant about new headphone models, and she told me some very interesting things i thought you might be interested in! They are working on some new electrostatic models. She couldn't tell me more than that because she said they were still in development stage. She said also, that the HD800 would be coming out soon, i believe she said a few months. She siad it would have a completely new shell design, and a completely new driver. She was explaining that it would be more open air design like AKG- I'm not sure if she meant K1000 or K701." The HD800 is coming out soon, I am certain of it. How soon is soon?, that is not known.

Is there anything that competes with the HeadAmp GS-1?
Voltron replied to Knuckledragger's topic in Headphone Amplification
I am asking Todd for the answer to this one, although I would suspect it is a loop out too. I talked to Todd briefly and he said that the amp pictured on the site is indeed a prototype that Pete Millett made up and he wanted to get a pic of it up just to get something on the website. The lettering and such on the prototype was not done by the same people who make Todd's cases and faceplates, so it should not be used as an example of the final product. I told Todd he might want to note that fact on the website. I think this could be an exciting product, and I confirmed with Todd that he will be doing a loaner program. -
What a baby. I cannot believe you posted a pouty email on Head-Fi claiming your integrity was being questioned. Grow a pair.

I am not sure but I think Todd just posted a pic of the prototype. I really like the no-op-amp symbol up in the corner! I will try to get one on loan if nothing else soon. -
I didn't dig into that issue, but I think the Miles Davis stuff may be in that mix as well. That is actually great for me because I missed the first round of Fantasy 45s and that stuff was already sold out. There are also more Blue Notes coming from Music Matters beyond the original 64 titles. Check it out.

Yeah, but you've come so far since that photo was taken.

I reject The Monkey's attempt to influence my choice! Daft Punk ordered just like Jay told me to. \

Do you think all that garbage and junk just happened? That takes time and talent, my friend. However, this guy is truly livin' large:

Thanks Stephen.

Random question that I admittedly have not yet researched but my stepfather-in-law has wanted Japanese language flash cards on his iPod for years and has never succeeded. I wondered if the Touch could provide some hope either through apps or just through the larger screen and flexibility with graphics. Anybody know anything useful on this topic? Considering getting him a refurbed Touch if this were something we could accomplish. TIA

This is what the OP said about timing, Saturday being today. I expect he will post them tomorrow even though I was not sure from this post if he was planning to put up some percentage of the pairs earlier.

Prices are probably lower than that at both and either one would be fine for a $100 dinner including apps, drinks and tip.

Resetting the Mike Baker gear sale countdown clock:

She may well know about Gladstones on the beach in Malibu, but it is a great spot. Indoor and outdoor seating about 20 yards from the surf. Good seafood and drinks. Fun stuff. Gift cards available. I love El Chavo Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood, which is a fun spot with lots of wacky decorations and effectively a shrine to Dolly Parton over the bar. It is her favorite spot in LA apparently but the food is fantastic, great margaritas and live music. Unfortunately, they do not have a real website, but call and see if they would do a gift certificate. I bet they would. If I think of more, I will let you know.

My bad.

Two birds walking down the street, obviously. And I thought you were a clever lad.

Yeah, I remember you from that weekend too, Mike:

He's obviously a tin-eared galoot with limited experience with quality gear.

Luckily I am not in the LA Area, but maybe we could get him to do something cool for CJ09.

There have already been many discussions of this issue on Head-Fi, so check out the search function over there to try to find it. John G has been asked but I don't know what he says. Click on the pic to go to Blackie's site:
