Well, HC has no such draconian restriction, which unfortunately just serves to make it more beneficial to post the good stuff on HF.

Flavor of the month or not, the westones are really comfy. If sound quality isn't a high priority, the um1 are a great set. I too am a bassist, and I loved my um1 before I left them on a plane and cheaped out on their replacement. I got mine used for $100 and that's pretty common. The um2 sound worlds better, and I haven't heard a production um3 to compare.

This serves both of us, in fact, since I have a "no preassembled audio in '09" pledge. I'm desperately shopping for speakers in the next two days

It might not be up your alley, Thrice, but Zelda is phenomenal. I'm playing through Call Of Duty: World At War and it's pretty enjoyable as well. I'd also recommend "No More Heroes" and "Okami". Fun games, all. I personally enjoy all the Madden titles on Wii, as I find the gesture system engrossing. I'm not always in the maority on this, though. If you find one used, it's about $15, so well worth trying for yourself.
