December 8, 201213 yr Great day for a ride around here. Ended up traveling out of town a bit to try a different part of the trails. Forgot the Garmin so I had to use Map My Ride on the iPhone. This was a much hillier section of the trail but the new fit made hills seem much easier to tackle. Rolled into the parking lot right at 17 miles on the odometer. Everything felt pretty good and the seat was a big improvement. The cyclists seem to be a bit more serious out on this part of the trail as there were lots of groups with matching jerseys. December 8, 201213 yr Nice to hear, Jeff! You'll be ready for the HC Century before you know it! **BRENT**
December 8, 201213 yr Watching the Red Bull Rampage on NBC right now. That is some serious mountain biking.
December 9, 201213 yr Author I want to note that we have three serious slackers: john, mike, raffy. They're up in Sebring for three days of cycling and not single picture posted yet. I just booked a hotel room for three days in Denver for NAHBS. Jeff is going. Who else wants to join?
December 9, 201213 yr I just booked a hotel room for three days in Denver for NAHBS. Jeff is going. Who else wants to join?nice. I'll be in San Diego the following week so no chance of me being there.
December 9, 201213 yr Enjoy the show! I'll be going to San Diego for family/riding around then and actually flying through Denver. I see that English cycles is a featured builder this year. Cool beans.
December 9, 201213 yr Author I just saw....or rather didn't see Kirk Frameworks on the exhibitors list. That would be a major bummer for me.
December 9, 201213 yr Wow I hope that he shows up. Maybe you could find out if he is going from him. I don't see Vanilla or Serotta listed either which is surprising as they always seem to have large booths.
December 9, 201213 yr Wouldn't it be great to have taken your Gunnar up to Bozeman for a ride/fit analysis with Dave? Knowing my own weaknesses with consumerist moderation, I'd be worried to put in a deposit on a custom and still continue to look at other bikes.
December 9, 201213 yr Great ride this morning with 2 others. We went into DC and rode around by the monuments which was fun. The cold and light rain was less fun. I wish more people rode with rain fenders. Edited December 9, 201213 yr by Dreadhead
December 9, 201213 yr Jp and raffy and I did a nice 31 mile ride today in Sebring. The last 9 miles were at a nice pace and then broke out into a sprint. raffy finished ahead of me again but I had a 1/4 mile gap to bridge to catch up to him at the beginning of the sprint.

I just booked a hotel room for three days in Denver for NAHBS. Jeff is going. Who else wants to join? Sorry, we didn't take any pics, which was stupid. . Speaking of pics, if you get a chance, take one of my bike which I believe will be in the Spectrum Powder Works booth. I'm jealous you are going
December 9, 201213 yr I cancelled my order. I would not have had them yet, anyway. Decided money better spent towards a mtb. But my Mavic Elites were great.
December 9, 201213 yr Fair enough. Mavic Ksyrium Elites are great wheels and are bomb proof. Edited December 9, 201213 yr by Dreadhead
December 9, 201213 yr It is quite a nice photo. We usually do and you even reminded us last night. We definitely were slackers. in a way, we did everyone a favor. Who really wants to see any more sweaty pictures of the three of us with bike helmets on.
December 10, 201213 yr it was a great time but a strong reminder that I need to lose the next 25 pounds I'm really thinking about doing the tour de cape on the west cost of FL 1/20 since my Mom lives in the general vicinity. Edited December 10, 201213 yr by jp11801
December 10, 201213 yr I think we need to plan a mountain biking meet this spring here: http://www.mulberrygap.com
December 10, 201213 yr We definitely need a HC Biking Meet at some point. I have been looking for a traveling case big enough for my Niner to do a bit of MTB traveling.
December 10, 201213 yr Jeff, probably no go on a mtb but for a road frame I can lend you my wife's normal sized bike bag. On a meet: I would be happy to do a road trip but no mtb trip for me until I get whole lot better on a mtb. I just don't enjoy it enough. Edited December 10, 201213 yr by Dreadhead
December 10, 201213 yr Thanks Chris, road bike crates are pretty easy but one that fits my massive MTB is pretty difficult. I just can't imagine carrying my road bike around for a meet. Edited December 10, 201213 yr by VPI
