  • Liked the Turbo Vado Super Light so much, I bought another one in Michigan. Same silver and black. We couldn't find Claire an SL in Northern Michigan or online so we got her the  regular Turbo Vado 5.

  • I bought an e-bike. Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 Super Light 2022 edition. Claire got a 4.0 step-through.

Jealous.

I wanted to go on a group ride tomorrow out of Tune Cycles, but after spending the past couple days readying the house for my momma's visit, I'm going to rest the bad leg for another week.

Doing a training ride at my local shop for the Tour de Cure tomorrow at 7:30am. That is, if I wake up early enough.

Big thanks to Nate for finding me a ridiculous deal on a suitable replacement for my mountain bike. I've committed to buying an '09 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Elite.

While I still have plenty if skiing to do, and I haven't even figured out when I'm going to be able to pick the bike up, I'm pretty psyched!

I thought you might be the friend Nate was going to pass that bike on to.  Looks like a really nice bike.  What do you ride now Ian?

I've been riding a Gary Fisher Joshua of similar vintage as the one Nate just moved up from. I had bought the frame back in '01 or '02 and built it then. I had gotten away from riding since, and really only got back into it last year. And there was a huge difference in Nate's riding once he upgraded... I knew I needed to do something to have a chance to keep up!

Absolutely great deal.  We really need to plan for a HC MTB trip somewhere.

post-644-13581006683543_thumb.jpg21.3 miles back at Chris' place.

Did the Tour de Cure group ride today for 34 miles. It was a nice ride that started off gentle and got harder as the ride progressed. Hung around up front and did a decent pull with the group leader (we were doing double pacelines) so overall it was a good ride.

I wish my legs felt better after only 35 miles, missing 3 weeks out a real dent on my conditioning.

Ended up being a great ride down to Mt. Vernon in the mist and fog.  I went really slow and had trouble on some of the hills so I think Chris did not get much of a workout but it was really fun.

Raffy sweet and welcome back! I did a shop ride today for a local event that is coming up. Held right there with the 20-22 mph crew until mile 15 then it felt like I was being bit in the back of the leg near my butt. I really need to stretch more and maybe some yoga.

Jeff I had a great time too and it was a great workout. You are faster than you think.

Nice score, Ian!

I saw that bike and was going to try to talk to inquire about it.  I went and looked a little later and saw someone had sent a PM, and then a follow up saying "it's pretty much sold."  I was like "crap, someone got a good deal!"  Then I saw "n_maher", and just had to smile.  :)

So, after another almost two weeks of no riding, I got in 10 miles this morning.  I felt good, but decided to stop this time while I was still feeling good so as not to set myself back again.  However not happy it makes me, I think I'm really going to have to take it much more slowly that I thought at first.

On the good front, I've lost 28 pounds, and set up some computrainer time this week to focus solely on pedal stroke/form.  As long as I'm going to be rehabing slowly, I might as well use this time to focus on basics.  I'm still doing weight training three days a week so as not to lose muscle.   I still need to lose another 15-20, but I'm stopping my rather hardcore "emergency surgery" diet, and am looking more at losing one pound a week moving forward.

Great job on the weight loss Vicki and good luck with getting up to speed.

I'm stress eating like mad and stuck up about 10lbs above my lowest weight. I will keep trying though.

You must have been really small at your lowest Chris, as you are pretty freakin thin now.  I am hoping to put some miles on this weekend as it is really nice outside.

Jeff want to ride tomorrow? I could meet you out at that point on the trail at 9 am or so?

I am up for a ride.  Made some adjustments on my stem spacers I want to try out.  Hopefully the front wheel doesn't fall off.
