ironbut
Attention all alonzo fans,.. Velocity channel is broadcasting the entire 24 hours of Le Mans. I guess Velocity is part of the Discovery family so most cable packages will have it. If not, you have about 7 hours to figure out how to snake it. Lots of F1 drivers this year,.. https://www.velocity.com/ 2
Torpedo
Amazing quali in the rain. The race tomorrow could deliver some emotion
ironbut
Yup. There was no lack of drama! It's hard not to enjoy watching the reactions from Mercedes top brass. Looking forward to another exciting surprise ending?
ironbut
Speaking of drama,.. Been meaning to post something about Ricciardo's decision to make the move to Renault. Wise move? Only time can tell but it sure has supercharged the driver speculations during the summer break.
Torpedo
He’s probably feeling as Alonso did in McLaren when Hamilton was the favorite wonder boy. Probably not his best move to win titles, but he’ll have more peace of mind.
ironbut
The summer break might have more action than some of the races? Lance Stroll's dad buys Force India (actually he heads a group to get the team out of administration). How long could it be before Lance leaves Williams (will it be Sergio who will be looking for a drive). https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula-one/45105296
Torpedo
Poor spoilt Stroll boy. I don't think any other decent pilot is going to like driving by his side, and he's not that good, so FI is facing more troubles than it already has. More or less like what it's happening to Williams. Then we have the Carlos Sainz. He's a good driver, has a lot of potential and more brains than most fast drivers at his age. He would be royally screwed if going to Red Bull to be Verstappen's sideman. I don't think that'd be acceptable for him, and going to Williams if Stroll leaves isn't a good career move either. I wonder if Williams could stay in races if Mr Daddy Stroll leaves and shuts the dough flux. Lots of drama indeed.
Torpedo
And now Fernando Alonso announces that he's leaving Formula 1. Probably a wise move since there's not much action outside Ferrari and Mercedes to produce a winner car. He's goal is winning the Triple Crown so he'd run the Indianapolis 500. Hopefully this means that Carlos Sainz could have his seat at McLaren.
mikeymad
Welcome to McLaren Mr Sainz
ironbut
Wow! Can't say that the news from Fernando is much of a surprise and the smart move IMHO. Great to see Sainz land on his feet. Could be a confusing Spa!
Mario_Fpolis
Coulda woulda. Lots os questions to be answered. Who will be the drivers for Toro Rosso? What´s the future of William without Stroll money? Ocon - a very good driver IMHO - future? Leclerc/Raikkonen (should I stay or should I go?)/Ferrari novel. ironbut
If any of you guys missed it, todays Austrian GP was one for the ages! So, if you've been ignoring F1 all season, take a couple of hours and watch this one.

ironbut
No lack of action in Silverstone this year (gotta love the Verstappen/Leclerc show)! Lots of encouraging progress from the mid pack teams too.
Voltron
I've just learned that there is a Grand Prix race around the city of Pau in formula 3 cars. That seems completely nuts and the sound can be heard clearly for many miles. Had anyone watched that before?
mikeymad
I have watched a few F3 races - but never have been - They are just literally a lower class of the formula series. Slower - not as experienced drivers. But can see rising stars of some future f1 drivers. (Shwartzman, Daruvala, )
ironbut
German GP- First wet race of the year was as crazy as you could hope! So far this year, there have been a couple of yawners, but it would be tough to beat the excitement of the last 3!
mikeymad
more like a skating rink - but also some great driving.
