Nonsense. It is all just part of the increasing delusion and decent into madness of Jack Torrance. Anyway, whenever Torrance sees these delusional things he is looking at a mirror or something reflective. All part of Kubrick's plot devices.

The shining is chock full of ghostly dead people. Why worry about this one scene?

Somebody is overthinking, or under thinking this.  If your a dead

guy, drinking seems like the right thing to do.

My world is full of black cats. I've heard too many people dismiss them as evil.

I don't let them outside for reasons like this.
